penultimate evening of the holidays, new year just passed
Connor laughed at a joke of Ryan and Benjamin shook his head with a smirk on his face. "Could you not?" My mom giggled as Dean poked her sides as she washed the dishes. He planted a kiss on her cheek and my grandma eyed them, a frown on her face. "Your mom looks happy." She said and I looked at her. "Yeah, Dean is a nice guy, I like him a lot."
"Good looking, too." Simon said, entering the kitchen. I shot up from my chair and threw my arms around him. "Uncle Simon!"
"Allison." He said, returning my hug. "I've missed you, too. Sorry I can only spend this evening with you."
My mom turned around and smiled. "We don't mind, work is important and we get that."
Simon let go of me to greet the rest, but frowned when he was about to shake Connor's hand. "Don't think I know you." He said, pulling back his hand. "But, you do look familiar."
"I'm Connor, Alli's boyfriend." He said and Ben scoffed. "And my best friend, but who am I at this point, right?"
"Alli, when were you gonna call and tell me that you have a boyfriend?" Simon asked, crossing his arms. "But, nice meeting you boy." He said, pulling Connor into hug. Connor frowned as he looked at me whilst returning the hug.
"Now, you gotta tell me all the sappy details about this relationships of yours." Simon said.

"So, one day you just decided to make out in the park and then started dating?" Simon asked and I slowly nodded. "Yeah, basically that."
"Like, nothing more?" He asked. "Well, she was dating this other guy, so I couldn't do anything without ruining their relationship." Connor said, looking at me for a brief moment. "Then they broke up, so I decided to just go for it."
"Let's not forget that you dated someone, too." I said and Connor sighed. "For two weeks. By the way, you didn't like her at all and neither did she like you in any way."
I shrugged. "No, I didn't like her."
"Sounds like you were jealous." Simon said, taking a sip of his wine. "I was at some points, I mean, she's pretty. Way prettier than me at least."
Connor frowned. "Do you think so? I think you are beyond beautiful." He said and I rolled my eyes. "Of course you'd think that."
Simon chuckled. "You're the perfect couple in my eyes, look at you."
Connor nodded. "Got to agree with you on that."
"Alli," Simon shot up. "I know why he fits with you. I've always pictured you with a British guy." He said and I laughed. "What?"
"Yeah, you know, a tall brown haired British guy." Simon said, pointing at Connor. "I think you had a little too much wine." I said, cocking my head to the side as I eyed my uncle. "Yeah, I did." He admitted.
"Let's get some sleep." I said and Simon pursed his lips. "Yeah," He looked around. "Where's my wife again?"
"In the kitchen." Connor said, pointing at the kitchen and Simon shot him a grin, winking. "Have fun."
He walked to the kitchen and I heard him talking to Aunt Zara. "Are we heading to bed, too?" Connor asked and I shrugged. "I guess so, it's pretty late."
He grinned. "You don't sound like you want to sleep."
I bit my lip and got up from the couch. "I mean, we could do something else." I took his hand and pulled him off the couch too. "Oh?" He asked, a smile tugging on his lips as I pulled him closer to me, locking my hands behind his neck. He placed his lips on mine, sneaking his arms around my waist.
