{set at the Langham hotel}

Sam sat up in bed, hands grasping his aching temples. He screwed his eyes shut, quiet gasps leaving his lips as he tried frantically to breathe normally. His eyes danced over to the sleeping brunette next to him, and every part of Sam wanted to wake him up. But he didn't. Instead he suffered alone, trying to be quiet so he wouldn't wake his best friend. He leaned back against the headboard, shaky breaths leaving his sore throat on repeat. Sam had had this horrible headache all day, but now it had turned into a horrible headache, with a sore throat and a stuffed nose. The blonde boy glanced nervously around the room, not too excited to be wide awake at 3am in a haunted hotel. It made Sam feel sick. Really, really sick. Sam groaned quietly as nausea started to bubble inside his stomach, knowing exactly what was coming. Swinging his legs out of bed, Sam slipped on his shoes and put one of the room keys in the back of his phone case. He quietly left the room, shutting the door behind him. The blonde needed some fresh air. He walked slowly, as his head was still banging and he didn't feel too steady on his feet, down to the lobby where he walked out the revolving door and into the cold London air. He sighed in relief when the cool air hit his burning face, relaxation spreading through his body. Sam squatted down onto the side of the pavement, sitting down and smiling slightly as the nausea feeling started to settle down. The blocked nose was much less apparent and the headache was slowly dying down. With relief cascading through his blood stream, Sam stared out at the very few passing cars, and the bright lights that lit up the city of London. It was truly beautiful here, and Sam loved it. And, listening to all the British accents was very funny. (I'm British and I don't think I speak that posh lmao). Sam's headache was still there, pulsing in his temples but the nausea feeling was nearly gone. The sore throat was still the same as before, but Sam wasn't complaining. Just as he went to stand up, his phone started to ring loudly. The blonde glanced at the caller ID, furrowing his eyebrows when he was Colby was calling. He answered the phone, holding it to his ear.
"What's up?" Sam asked.
"Where are you!!" Colby exclaimed, and Sam could hear the absolute panic laced between the three words.
"Woah, chill! I'm just outside," Sam laughed breathily, hearing Colby sigh on the other side of the phone.
"Why are you outside?" Colby asked, his voice now calm and gentle. The sudden change in tone made Sam smile, before he answered.
"I felt horrible, I needed some fresh air," Sam explained, standing up and starting to walk inside.
"Why didn't you wake me?" Colby questioned.
Sam didn't answer, however. He was making his way through the lobby, and that horrible nausea feeling was back, and his head was pounding just like before.
"Sam?" Colby persisted.
"Sorry, sorry yeah," Sam mumbled, pushing some buttons on a lift before stepping inside.
"Are you ok?" Colby asked, almost sensing sam's discomfort through the electronic device pressed to his ear.
"Yeah, yeah fine. Listen I'm in the lift I'll be there in a second," Sam said before hanging up, hearing the half protest of Colby before the line went dead. He screwed his eyes shut, phone dropping onto the floor as the doors of the elevator shut. He hunched over, hands tightening round strands of his hair as he let out heavy breaths as he tried to breathe through the pain. The banging inside his head was the worst it's ever been, and Sam could hardly bare it. However, when he heard the ping of the lift opening, he was forced to compose himself, pick up his phone and walk towards the room. He saw the room, 333, getting his room key and opening the door. As soon as he stepped through the door, he was bombarded with questions from Colby. "Why did you hang up? I thought something bad had happened!" Colby exclaimed. Sam wasn't listening though. He was making his way to the bathroom, hands grasping at anything he could use to keep himself upright.
"Sam?" Colby asked, walking closer to his best friend.
Sam stumbled into the bathroom, collapsing in front of the toilet and with no hesitation, emptying the contents of his stomach into it. Sam retched, tears brimming in his crystal blue eyes. If it wasn't for the gentle hand that was slowly rubbing up and down the blondes back, Sam would've burst into tears there and then. Colby was watching with wide eyes, guilt pooling in him stomach as he watched his best friend empty his. When Sam was finally finished, he let out a small sob. Colby reached forward and flushed the toilet, then gathering the pale blonde boy into his arms. Sam gratefully turned himself around, his cheek squashed against colby's chest as he let shaky breaths escape his chapped lips. The burning sensation he got after the acid left his stomach was adding to his already sore throat, and the pain was the worst thing in the world. He let Colby hold him, as he sat there shaking against him. "You should've told me it was that bad," colby whispered into the silence. Sam nodded, knowing that his best friend was right. Colby gently bought his cool hand onto sam's burning forehead, frowning as he did so. "You're burning up," Colby told Sam, slowly swiping the bangs out of the way of the blondes eyes. Sam nodded, he'd guessed that the minute he started to feel bad. "Right, come on. Let's get you to bed," Colby decided, peeling Sam's frail body of him and standing up. He pulled the blonde up after him, the sudden movement causing Sam to wobble and his vision to cloud over. He grasped onto Colby, his breathing quickening.
"Hey, you're ok, it's alright. I got you," colby said reassuringly. He stood patiently as Sam regained control of his body, then proceeding to help the boy over and into the bed. Sam curled up under the covers, head resting on the pillow comfortably. Colby grabbed his phone, switching it on and scrolling through his contacts.
"Hey, I'm just going out in the corridor to make a call," Colby explained.
"No! No please stay!" Sam gasped, pleading eyes diving right into Colby's.
Colby chuckled fondly, walking over to Sam.
"Budge over blondie," Colby smiled. Sam did just that, slowly shuffling over in the bed to allow enough for Colby to crawl into. Colby slid in next to his best friend, smiling when an arm was slung over his stomach and a blonde head was placed on his chest.
"Is this ok?" Sam asked softly.
Colby smiled, pulling the blonde closer.
"Of course," Colby said back.
Sam hummed contently, snuggling into Colby and closing his eyes. The brunette clicked on Corey's contact, and rang it. He explained that Sam was sick and therefore they'd leave in the morning and end the video there. Corey, of course understood, and hung up the phone shortly after.
Colby placed his phone on the night stand, and his eyes travelled down to look at the blonde snuggled to his chest. He smiled, his own eyes falling shut as he fell asleep to Sam's steady breathing.
