{they don't know colby in this story btw😂}Sam yawned; slouching slightly in the uncomfortable chair he'd been sat in for the past half hour. He carried on scrolling through his Instagram; liking posts and smiling at all the edits his fans had tagged him in.
"Get your tickets out."
Sam looked up at the sound of his friends voice; stuffing his phone in his pocket and digging his plane ticket out his bag. Elton was sat opposite him; glancing out the window at the planes landing and departing on the run-way outside. Corey sat next to him, phone pressed to his ear as he chatted to his girlfriend. The three males were about to board a flight to New Zealand for a TFIL trip. It was 2am; everyone was exhausted. The small blonde couldn't stop yawning, Elton was continuously rubbing his eyes; and Corey looked like he was half asleep- chatting to his equally as tired girlfriend on the other end of the phone. When the announcement came over the speakers that their flight was boarding; everyone stood up and grabbed their bags.
"Call you when we get there. Love you," Corey muttered; and then slipped his phone into his back pocket.
"Alright lover boy?" Elton joked. Corey huffed; rubbing a hand over his face.Once they finally got on the plane; the three males set about finding their seats. Sam watched as Elton and Corey slipped into two seats; sitting down and placing their bags in the overhead carrier or on the floor underneath their seat. Sam furrowed his eyebrows; glancing at his ticket once again.
"Hang on; I'm sat all the way back there!" Sam exclaimed; pointing to a couple rows back.
"Have fun sammmmm, see you in New Zealand," Corey laughed; before settling back in his seat. Sam rolled his eyes; dragging his tired and sleep ridden body to his seat, shuffling in and seating himself by the window; shoving his bag down by his feet. He put his seatbelt on; and rested his head back against the seat, closing his eyes. Hopefully; he'd be able to sleep through this entire flight. He got a little comfier; letting his head loll to the side a bit; trying to relax.
"You do realise we haven't even taken off yet, don't you?"
Sam's eyes shot open, glancing up at the owner of the voice. A tall, blue eyed brunette was standing next to Sams seats; his lips curling up into a smile.
"M'tired," Sam shrugged; trying not to stare. But he couldn't help it. This boy was beautiful. Perfect.
Sam's heart leapt up into his throat as the brunette sat down in the seat next to him.
"W-what are you doing?" Sam asked, sitting up straighter.
"Um... this is my seat?" the brunette chuckled; looking over at Sam.
The smaller boy stared right back; eyes diving into the brunettes. Ocean met the sky; and Sam felt electricity shoot through his entire body.
"U-uh yeah; course... sorry," Sam mumbled; as the safety instructions started playing over the speakers. And then the seatbelt light was coming on; and the plane was moving - shooting down the runway and then up into the sky. Sam glanced out the window, smiling slightly as he looked down at the fluffy clouds beneath him. The blonde didn't dare look at the brunette stranger seated next to him; but he could feel his eyes on him. He could feel them burning into the back of his head; but he refused to meet his eyes again. He didn't know if he'd be able to look away.Colby glanced at the blonde he'd found himself seated next to. He was cute; small and precious with bright blue eyes and rosy cheeks. Said blonde was currently looking out the window, eyes glued to the clouds underneath them as the plane zoomed through the sky. Colby sighed; pulling his gaze from the blonde and instead glancing down at his phone; playing some games that still worked on airplane mode. People came around and offered him snacks and drinks; and he took a few. The blonde did too. His voice was gentle and soothing; and it made colby smile.
"Sam!"
Colby glanced up from his phone; looking up at the bearded man who had just stopped by his seat.
"Hey elton," the blonde-Sam?, responded.
"You good?" Elton asked; and Sam nodded.
"Having fun?" he asked again; and this time and his eyes glanced at Colby; before landing back on the blonde. The brunette watched out of the corner of his eye as sams cheeks flushed red; and he shot elton a glare. Colby smirked.
Elton grinned; glancing at Colby before speaking.
"You slept yet?" Elton asked, and Sam shook his head.
"Hmm. Corey's passed out over there. Thought I'd come say hi. But, looks like you have all the company you need."
Colby watched as Sams whole body froze; the brunette had to suppress a laugh.
"Goodbye elton," Sam spoke through gritted teeth.
"And who is your friend?" Elton continued; ignoring Sams glares. Colby glanced up, looking between Sam and Elton, confused for second before he spoke up.
"Um-I'm colby," he said; smiling slightly. He caught Sams eyes for a second; before the blonde looked away. Colby smiled.Once Elton had left; the blonde went back to staring out the window; much to Colby's disappointment. The slight pink tint still lingering on his cheeks was a tell-tale sign that the small blonde was still embarrassed; it made colby smile. After a few hours of playing game after game on his phone; and watching some movies he'd downloaded from Netflix; Colby realised something. Sam was asleep. The brunette turned his head to face the blonde as he smiled fondly. Sams head was dangling to the side; leaning towards Colby. The brunette laughed slightly; before returning his focus back to the movie he was watching. After another half hour; Colby felt a sudden weight on his shoulder. The brunette turned; smiling when he was met with a mop of blonde hair resting peacefully on his shoulder. Sams eyes were still shut, his breathing still even. The brunette ignored the warm feeling spreading through his body, and bought his hand up to brush the hair gently away from the blondes face. He smiled slightly; before retracting his hand and turning to watch his movie once more.
Sam slept for the rest of the flight. Colby's shoulder was aching; but he didn't care. When the plane began to land; and the seatbelt light pinged on, Colby slowly did his own up; careful not to move too much. When he looked to see if sams was on or not; he was happy to see that the blonde had never taken it off, and it was still tightened around his waist. The plane dropped gracefully out the sky; and Colby felt his body bounce as the wheels collided with the runway. The sudden movement caused Sam to jump; his eyes shooting open. He just stayed there for a few moments; and Colby watched as his calm face turned to one of confusion, and then panic. The blonde shot up; sitting up straight and turning to colby.
"W-was I... oh my gosh I'm so sorry! You should have just pushed me off!" Sam apologised; his cheeks flushing.
"It's fine; don't worry about it," colby chucked. As everyone began to stand up, the blonde started stuffing his phone and headphones and blanket back into his bag. He could see colby grabbing a napkin that must have come with some sort of food out of the corner of his eye; but he didn't pay much attention. When he had successfully zipped his bag and stood up, Colby was gone. Sams heart dropped; disappointment rooting itself in his heart. That was until his eyes fell to the napkin laid on the seat colby had been sat in; with a number scrawled on it in black ink.Sam sighed with relief as he, Elton and Corey burst through their hotel room door. Sam kicked his shoes off; jumping onto one of the double beds and closing his eyes. He could feel the napkin in his pocket; it made him smile happily.
"Don't go to sleep Sam! We have dinner in like, half an hour," Elton warned the blonde. Sam nodded, sitting up in his bed. Elton disappeared into the bathroom, and Corey was sat on another bed, eyes glued to his phone. The blonde quickly pulled the napkin out his pocket, transferring the number that was written on there into his phone; shoving it back in his pocket when he was done. He stared at the contact, before pressing the message icon and hovering his thumbs over the keyboard as he thought of what to write. Just a simple, "hi". Or "hey it's Sam from the plane".
He decided on "hey, it's Sam :)" , before pressing send and shutting his phone off. Elton appeared from the bathroom, crossing his arms and looking at Sam.
"What you smiling about?" He asked.
"Nothing," Sam shrugged; smiling innocently up at the elder.
"Whatever, just get dressed for dinner," Elton scoffed. Sam nodded, smile still playing on his lips.Buzz
Sam's body tensed, as he glanced at his lit up phone screen. They were sat at dinner, and Elton and Corey were chatting about something that Sam wasn't paying attention to. The blonde reached out, grabbing his phone from the table and smiling when he saw he had one new message. He frantically unlocked his phone; and warmth fluttered through his chest as he saw who it was from.Colby:
