Horns honking. Breaks squealing. Glass smashing. Passer-by's screaming. Metal scraping against gravel. Then silence.

Colby was breathing heavily, heart racing and his body aching. The brunette was shaking, hands grasping to any surface he could; because the boy was floating. He was in mid air- floating. He could feel the seatbelt digging painfully into the side of his neck; and it came to the brunettes attention that it was the only thing keeping him upright. Colby gasped; trying desperately to move; but he was in so much pain. His forehead was banging; and he could feel something warm trickling down his cheek and down his neck. His chest was screaming at him; banging painfully on his ribs whenever he tried to move. And his foot was throbbing, wedged down by the footwell. The brunette dared to move his neck; glancing around the vehicle. By what he could tell, the car was tipped on its side. Colby's side of the car was up in the air; meaning the brunette was hanging awkwardly sideways. Slowly, he moved his head to look down at the side of the car resting on the ground; and his heart stopped. Because as soon as he saw the flash of blonde hair; he remembered. He wasn't alone in the car.
"Sam.." colby croaked; his voice quiet and hoarse.
"Sam... dude-" colby cut himself off with a cough; and as he did that, his ribs were screaming at him again and colby lost grip of the dashboard and his body flopped. The brunette screamed out in pain from the sudden change of position, silently thanking his seatbelt; or else he'd be lying on the floor on top of Sam. Speaking of Sam; from what colby could see; the blonde was laying scarily still; blood trickling down his face and glass laying broken on top of his small body.
"Sam? Dude can you hear me?" Colby tried again. His throat felt like sandpaper; but he had to get Sam to hear him.
"Sam... brother; wake up!" Colby somewhat shouted; but his voice broke painfully at the end. He reached down; and the brunettes hand just managed to graze the blondes lightly. Colby was trying to hold back tears; trying to shake Sam from his awkward position hanging from above him.
"dude... Sam please.." colby whispered brokenly; heart plummeting when he received no response from Sam. Colby had tears streaming down his face now- fat droplets of water rolling down his cheeks. Colby could hear sirens; getting closer and closer. They provided some comfort; but not enough to put his mind at ease. Colby reached up; grabbing onto the steering wheel and using it to help haul himself up a bit more. He ignored his bodies screams of pain; and instead focused on trying to open his car door. It was jammed; making colby cry out. He had to get out; get help... for Sam. The brunette checked for any other exit, heart thrashing in his chest. The front wind-screen was smashed; and colby could crawl through it- but there was so much broken glass. The only other place colby could think of being able to climb through was his window. It was smashed; leaving a small but possible exit for the brunette. Not all the glass had fallen from the window; meaning some still stuck out in places; jagged and sharp. But colby didn't care. He needed somebody to get to Sam. Colby reached down; yanking at his seatbelt; trying to unplug it. After a few moments; it finally gave; and colby had to catch himself- forgetting that that piece of fabric was ultimately the only thing keeping him from joining Sam on the floor. Colby screamed in pain as he pushed himself up, slinging an arm out the window and pressing his hand to the cool metal outside the car. From there, he dragged his un-injured foot out of the footwell; and pressed it against the seat; helping him push himself up. He angled his body correctly; lining up to the open window. He just had to get his other leg free; and then he'd push up with one leg and use his arms to get him out the rest of the way. With a painful scream of pain; colby dislodged his throbbing ankle from the footwell; and quickly stood up shakily on his un-injured foot. He was half hanging out the window now; and he shakily used his arms to haul him the rest of the way out now. He screamed, feeling the jagged bits of remaining glass digging into his sides and ripping his skin. He tried to haul himself up so he was sat on the car; but his body just went slack, and he could feel himself falling a little before he come into contact with the road. His body landed on the ground with a painful thud; and colby cried out. There were hands on his shoulders; people asking if he was okay, what his name was. Colby just sobbed; trying to push himself up from the ground. He could hear the sirens so, so closely now; and when he looked up he could see the multiple ambulances and police cars parked a little away from the car. And then he realised it was the paramedics holding him down to the ground and telling him not to move.
"Sam... no- my friend.." colby groaned.
"People are helping him, sweetheart. Just stay nice and still for us okay.." the paramedic said softly; but colby was having none of it. He used his shaky hands to push himself up from the ground into a sitting position. He bit his lip painfully; feeling a sob bubble in the back of his throat. Hands were on his shoulders instantly; voices telling him to stay still; to not move anymore. Colby wanted to stand up and run to his best friend; but his body was aching; and he couldn't bring himself to shift positions again.
"Any pain in your neck or back?"
"No... no. I'm- I'm okay.. it's my friend... you need to-"
"You're friend is in good hands darling; but right now we're focusing on you," the paramedic smiled, softly rubbing the brunettes back.
"No... no he'll want me with him.." colby sobbed; trying to move again but hands held him still. Suddenly; his body was being hauled up and onto a stretcher.
