"Hey Gally," Minho jogged up to his friend. "You seen Y/N anywhere? I can't find her."
"Y/N?" Gally questioned uneasily. He didn't even raise his head out of his hammock to talk to Minho. "That's a bit of a cruel joke, even coming from you."
Back in the Glade, Minho had been the one and only person Gally confided in about Y/N. Even at that, it had only been one fleeting night at the bonfire, where he was intoxicated and couldn't help but let certain things slip past his lips. Simple things like how the thought of Y/N was always clouding his mind and how she was the only person he felt like a different person around.
Minho kicked Gally through the hammock. "What kinda klunk you spewing, man? Y/N. She's not a joke?"
Finally having enough and feeling the blood beneath his skin beginning to boil, Gally sat up and directed his blood shot eyes at Minho. "You're asking me if I've seen a dead girl. That doesn't seem sadistic to you?"
Minho's brows knit together and his mind ran circles. "Dude, Y/N's here with us. What makes you think she's dead?"
Tensing, Gally sat up a little taller and his knuckles became white as his fingers wrapped around the edge of his hammock. "What?"
"...What?" Minho cocked his head to the side and was now completely lost. He had no clue what was going on up in Gally's brain.
All of the sudden, Minho's shoulder was shoved as Gally blew past him, running off into the bustling camp. Long, heavy strides carried the former builder across the camp, through crowds of people and fire pits. His friends tried to stop him, seeing the frantic look in his eyes, but he ignored them entirely. He needed to find Y/N. If what Minho had said was true, that is.
Gally searched the entire camp inside and out but he never saw Y/N's familiar form. That was, until he reached the very edge of the camp and looked out to the shore. There were two people, one of which he knew was Thomas, crouched over in the sand and seemingly giggling over something.
"Y/N?" He forced her name out, hoping and praying that whoever it was turned around matched the name he'd said.
Thomas was the first to notice Gally, turning to lock eyes with him. In the moment they did, Thomas knew his friend was in a state of disbelief and pure panic. Why? He could only assume it had something to do with why he'd just said her name.
The dark haired boy tapped Y/N's shoulder and pointed back to Gally. A smile adorned her features when she realized who it was that had come to join them and she waved him over. For a moment, he just stood with wide, glassy eyes.
"I'll leave you two to it." Thomas smiled softly and walked off, brushing past Gally on the way.
Hesitantly, he stepped closer to Y/N, afraid walking too fast might cause her to fade away. She didn't seem to care how long he was taking though, too occupied with what she was doing.
What currently held her attention was a small frog, causing her to laugh whenever it jumped. "I didn't think something like frogs still existed! This is the first time—well, first time I can remember seeing one!"
"I thought you were dead." Gally faltered, still unsure if he should believe what he was seeing.
"Dead?" No longer was the frog the most interesting thing.
"The last time I saw you...was when you left the maze. I never once saw you or heard about you since everyone showed up to save Minho." He explained, his breath evidently running out. "I thought they were trying to forget about you or something, so I didn't ask. Just assumed the worst."
Y/N raised one her shoulders and snickered. "Jorge asked me to stay with the berg the entire time because I was the only one who could help him fly it. That's why you never saw me. Why didn't you just ask where I was?"
Gally bit his cheek. "I didn't want to hear it from them that you were gone."
"Well, today's your lucky day. You don't have to hear it from them or anyone. I'm quite alive." She punched his shoulder lightly.
Y/N's attention shifted back to the frog hopping away as Gally stood there dumbfounded. "Hey, watch—"
The girl was cut off as her entire body was nearly sent straight down into the sand. Gally had thrown himself right at her out of the blue and was holding her as tight has he could against his chest. He stumbled slightly, trying to make sure he didn't lose his balance. "Man we have some catching up to do. I never thought I'd get the chance to finally tell you how in love with you I was. Well, I guess still am—"
Y/N snickered slightly, attempting to pry herself out of Gally's suffocating grip. "Wait, what?"
The former builder lowered his head as he let out a soft laugh, trying to hide the embarrassment hindering his breath. He knew that the next few hours, days and maybe even years were going to be the best of his life. Back in the Glade, all he wanted was for a chance to sit down with Y/N and do nothing other than talk. Now, he had that chance. He'd maybe admitted his long running feelings sooner than he hoped, but after all, he had nothing left to lose.
