As far as Y/N knew, today was just a normal day. It began at sunrise with Minho shaking her hammock vigorously in order to wake her. Then came breakfast, an oh so typical bowl of seemingly unflavoured porridge. The maproom was next, ridden with the unforgettable sent of overused running shoes and Minho's ego. Raucous screeching and rumbling coming from the opening maze doors was the pairs final destination before taking off into the day.

The morning was humid and muggy, but the weather could have been far worse. Running the section of the maze was, of course, the exact same as the last time. Not a single thing changed. Even the ivy the pair had left behind last time still lay on the ground, just dead and shrivelled up.

"Let's take a break, shebean." Minho

Y/N had felt odd today, as if something was slightly off. Now, it had finally caught up to her. She stood up, but her knees buckled from beneath her and she plummeted into the stone floor. Minho was too slow, unable to break her fall. He cursed at himself and tried to wake her, shaking her unconscious body and screaming her name. She was breathing, but not responding. So, based off of common sense, Minho threw the girl over his shoulders so he could get back to the medjack hut as quickly as possible.

A blurry image appeared in the girls head like a dream. She sat at a computer desk with a transulencet screen. On the other side was Minho, to her left was Newt.
The image skipped. Minho was silently crying at his desk. Newt was gone.
Now, Y/N realized she and the Gladers were in some kind of training facility.
Then, she saw some kind of doctor from across the room leaning over Thomas' chair. She was whispering something like 'well done' to him in some kind of congratulatory way.
When she looked to her computer screen, focusing on the display instead of Minho who was behind it, she saw something that broke her heart. They were working on the maze. Maintaining it through computer systems. There was Alby and Newt, mulling about the empty, overgrown grass field at a complete loss of what to do.
On Minho's computer, he was overseeing the Glade and it's tenants with hidden cameras. Not only were they the ones to have made the maze, but they spied on their friends while they struggled to survive.

Newt was the first to realize something was wrong. Minho flew past the gardens with the girl over his shoulders bouncing with each stride.

"Y/N? What happened?" Newt asked as soon as he saw her eyes break open.

"Eager much?" Y/N fluttered her eyes and groaned in discomfort. Minho was quick to help her sit up.

"You randomly passed out." Minho ran a hand up and down her back, hoping she'd muster some kind of explanation.

Suddenly, her body tensed and she reached for her head. She sucked in a sharp breath, her legs drawing to her chest. Rocking back and forth, Minho backed away for Clint to take his place.

"Y/N! Where does it hurt?" The medjack asked, trying to pry the girls arms away from her head. Minho figured it was a dumb question because she was obviously clawing at her head.

Like a switch was flipped, Y/N snapped out of her haze and gazed around the room, then back to Clint. "Nothing. I think I'm just dehydrated."

"No you're not. I made sure you drank the same amount as me today." Minho scoffed.

"Well, then I don't know why I passed out." Y/N shrugged and thew her legs over the edge of the cot. "I feel find now, so lets get back to the maze."

"Woah—" Minho put a hand to Y/N's shoulder and held her back. "We're not going back out there today. You need to rest."

"Like hell I do," Y/N pursed her lips and once again tried to push past Minho and break for the door. It failed.

The keeper of the runners looked down to the girl with a stern glare Newt had only seen on two other occasions. Once when Minho questioned why he'd made the climb up that wall and once when Gally told him he wasn't good for anything.

"You're resting. My orders. Follow them or you're no longer a runner.'

Y/N knew she couldn't ignore his commands. After all, he was the keeper she reported to, and he most certainly had the power to strip her of her duty. If that were to happen, Y/N would surely go insane in the small stone box.

"Fine," She grumbled. "Lets go to the maproom then." This time, Minho let her brush past and exit the hut. Newt sent Minho a sympathetic smile.

"Keep an eye on her, alright?" The blonde asked.

"Yeah," Minho stifled a breath and head out after Y/N. By the time he left the hut, she was already on the edge of the woods heading for the maproom. Something was wrong and the runner promised himself he wasn't going to leave until he found out what it was.

Minho cautiously closed the maproom door on his way in. Y/N was already completely invested in drawing something, but Minho knew it was to only distract herself.

"I've never been the best artist either, but what you've got goin' there don't look like a map, shebean." Minho pressed closed and tried to decipher the image she was sketching out.

Y/N picked up the paper and backed off nervously. She knew she had to tell Minho what she saw. But what if he hated her for it? Remove her from being a runner? Refused to even look at her again? If Minho found out she and the others were the reason they ended up in the maze, he could completely turn on her. Right now, Minho was the closest person she had to her, and putting that relationship on the line wasn't exactly something she wanted to do. But, she also didn't want to have to avoid him for the rest of her life.

"What's gotten into you?" He asked. Y/N had never acted this odd around him, and definitely not so secretive and dodgy. "What are you drawing?!" He asked again after no response came.

"It's nothing." Y/N muttered.

"I may not know why you're being so shucking avoidant, but I do know when you're lying." Minho's voice seemed to shake the whole hut. In the past few hours he'd gone from panicked, to confused, upset and now angry. She wasn't talking to him or being honest because she knew something he didn't. That something was a thing he wanted to know. Whether it was a secret about the maze or something to do with being a girl, he wanted to know. After all, Y/N was his running partner. His best friend. He felt obligated to look after her in one way or another, but he felt useless when she blocked him out like this.

"Alight, fine." Y/N sighed. She knew she couldn't lie to Minho for long or keep a secret because he'd never give up. It wasn't worth the fight. "When I was out, I saw things."

"Saw?"

"Dreamt, maybe? You know those nightmares we get?" Y/N finally sat down and looked Minho right in the eyes.

"Yeah, they suck." He sat beside her.

"Ok, well, it was like those. But clearer. We were in this...facility. We sat at computers and yours was across from mine. What was on those computers though..." Y/N froze. Was this the right thing to do?

Minho furrowed his brows. "And?"

"We built the maze. We sent Alby and Newt here before we came up in the box. We're the reason this has all happened." Y/N admitted with a grim look on her face. Seeing it in her mind was different than saying it aloud, the words leaving her mouth bitter and vile.

"We—"

"Yeah," Y/N knew she didn't need to explain. Minho was smart, he understood what this meant.

Minho didn't want to hear anything else. He reached forwards and pulled Y/N into his body and ran a hand over her hair. "Shuck."

"Times two," Y/N laughed slightly. "How are we gonna tell Alby?" She tried to squirm out of his grasp but his didn't let her.

"We'll figure that out later, He said. "Lets just stay here for now."
