Trying to stay Calm (Part 1)

*Y/n's POV*

Y/n made her way out to her car. She was mad more than anything else right now. Class was dismissed for the day which gave her the opportunity to go pick up the kids, go home and relax a bit before heading off to work at the animal shelter. As she was putting her stuff in the back seat of her car, she could tell someone was standing behind her. She lashes out and nearly ends up punching Megatron. "Oh shi...I'm sorry. I thought you were Cryotek."

"What has he done this time?" Megatron asks.

"He claims he came to check up on me while I was teaching my class. He said a few things in Cybertronion. With Lazorbeak's help after class, he told me what Cryotek said."

"What did he say?"

Y/n repeats what she remembers to Megatron, trying her best to stay calm as possible.

Megatron was almost livid with anger. Y/n had just started teaching at Primus University and Cryotek had already tried making an advancement towards her. From what Megatron could tell, she had no interest in anyone. "I'll deal with it personally. Something like this cannot be ignored. If I have to, I'll throw him out myself if he doesn't leave. He already caused problems in the past. But now he has caused the line." Something shiny catches his eye and he reacts in time to catch it, only to see it was a set of car keys. Megatron gives Y/n a questioning look.

"Do me a favor and drive my car for me. I'm not going to drive angry and get myself in a car accident."

"We barely know each other and you trust me to drive your car?"

"I just don't feel like getting hurt." Y/n gets into the passenger side of her car. "I'll be able to pay you back for today."

Megatron gets into Y/n'a car. "So where to first?"

"I need to pick up Megan and Chris from school. After that I have two hours to kill before having to go start my shift at the animal shelter." Y/n closes her eyes, still trying to calm down before buckling herself up. After a few minutes she feels the car pull out of the parking lot. It was quiet for the next thirty minutes before Megatron decided to break the silence.

"Is it hard being a single mom?" Megatron asks out of the blue.

"Sometimes it is. At first it was. Not long after my husband divorced me, I found it hard to make ends meet so I'd end up working two jobs. I worked at the local animal shelters and one of the local coffee shops for the past six months. One day there was a flier on the builiton board at the coffee shop about a teaching position available at Primus University. I jumped at the opportunity and called the place. I had put my two weeks in prior at the coffee shop and it was on my last day I found that flier."

"A single mom just trying to make ends meet just to provide for her family. What about your ex-husband?"

"Mike you mean? He divorced me after I had adopted Chris even after it was our decision to do so. After suffering a miscarriage, I was too scared to have another kid so we thought it would be best to adopt. But as of now, we share joint custody of the kids. He gets them on weekends."

"So from what I understand, he divorced you six months ago just because you wanted to bring a child, not of your own blood, into your family?"

"Pretty much."

Megatron laughs. "You humans are so confusing at times. To Cybertronions, so a sense there is a marriage. Or as you would call it, a bonding of one's soul. We call it a sparkbond. It's where two Cybertronions meld their sparks together to share a bond with the one they care about. This bond can be felt no matter how far apart you are." The rest of the drive to Megan's school was spent with Megatron telling Y/n about Cybertron, its history, and as well as the biology of Cybertronions and the life on Cybertron.

The car stops outside Megan's school and she gets into the back seat of the car. "Mommy who's this?"

"This is Megatron, sweetie. He's helping me with some errands today."

"Mommy got mad?" Megan asks.

"Yes. Mommy got mad again. But this time it wasn't because of daddy. A teacher tried to interrupt me while I was teaching my class today."

"As long as mommy is safe. Wanna hear about my day?"

"Sure, sweetie," said Megan. She begins to tell her mom and Megatron about her day at a school. About how she was able to read a book by herself with some help from the teacher and how there will be a class project to make a multicultural cookbook. But she only managed to say 'Multitural' since the word 'multicultural' was hard for her to say. When they stopped to pick up Chris from school, Y/n could tell he had a bad day and she told him that they will tall about it later.

Two hours later, Megatron drove Y/n to the animal shelter and offered to stay with her. He was more concerned about the fact that Cryotek might have followed them.

Y/n makes her way towards the shelter after she gets out of her car and heads inside.

*Megatron's POV*

Megatron watches Y/n head inside the animal shelter. He was puzzled over the fact as to why Cryotek was obsessed with trying to claim her. "Its kinda puzzling. She's a single mom, working two jobs in order to provide for her two kids. Recently went through a divorce and isn't interested in being with anyone." He looks towards the animal shelter. "But she has a heart for animals." He heads inside and was directed towards the cat room by the young man who worked at the front desk. As he makes his way to the cat room, Megatron takes note of the place. The floors, walls, and rooms were clean. The place smelled clean despite the fact of the animals kept there. Megatron finds the cat room and finds Y/n sitting on the couch with at ten cats by her, either begging for pets or just laying next to her. "Seems you're quite popular," teases Megatron.

Y/n laughs and points down at Megatron's feet. "She wants you to pick her up and hold her."

Megatron looks down and sees Maine Coon cat with three legs sitting down at his feet, chortling at him. "How can you tell?"

"I just can. Please pick Milly up so she'll settle down," said Y/n.

Megatron picks up Milly and was rewarded by loud purring. "Seems like the animals are all happy here."

"Through my love and care for them, I turn even the shyest cat into a love bug."

Megatron sits down onto the couch next to Y/n, after getting of the cats to move out of the way. I could get used to this. But even moments like this can be gone in an instance, Megatron thinks to himself.
