Picking up the Pieces (Part 1)

*Just a fair warning. This next chapter is going to be a bit long. Not going to spoil much but I know a lot of my readers will enjoy reading these next few chapters*

*Y/n's POV*

*One week later*

A lot has happened since Christmas morning. Dinobot was murdered on Christmas day and his sparkmate, Lily, had to be rushed off to Taranchulas's lab at Primus University since no regular hospital would no how to save her life. As it turns out, she suffered what is called a broken spark, which is the Cybertronion equivalent of a broken heart for a human.

As for Y/n, the scales that had grown as of the result of the blood transfusion from Megatron, the first one that was given to her, have grown more prominent. The scales were clearly visible and were a dull red in coloration. Y/n had grown self-conscious about them and tried to cover them up but being as they are, dragon scales, they tear through whatever shirt or sweater she wears to hide them. So she gives up on hiding them. People always ask about them but not too often, since this is Paradise Falls that Y/n was living in, as it turns out is that a lot of the human residents are used to the odd occurrences that happen on a daily basis. Megatron at one point called her scales beautiful.

True to her word, Y/n did see Taranchulas later on Christmas day to receive another transfusion of Megatron's blood before he left the campus at Primus University to get the cabin ready for the Christmas party. And once again Taranchulas told her only time would tell if the second transfusion will flush out the remaining blood that Cryotek had poisoned her with.

Meanwhile Y/n was on her way to Primus University. Taranchulas had called her, asking for her help with a project but he wouldn't specify over the phone. By the time she gets to the lab, she could tell something was up. "Alright so what do you guys need my help with?" Y/n asks Taranchulas as she walks into the lab.

"We need your help creating a spark to graft to a protoform," said Megatron as he walks into the lab.

"Who did you guys kill?"

"You remember hearing about Dinobot's death? We are going to create a clone of him but we will be using a fragment of his spark to create a new spark," said Taranchulas. "I'm going to give you a list of codes to enter into the computer while I make a container to keep the spark stabilized until the Protoform is ready."

"How did you guys get a fragment of Dinobot's spark?" Y/n asks.

Megatron reaches into his pants pocket and pulls out the necklace with the crystal that contains the fragment of Dinobot's spark. "We are doing this for the sake of Lily. Her and Dinobot did manage to form a sparkbond between them but it didn't get the chance to strengthen. By making a clone of Dinobot, she will get a second chance to spend time with the one she loves."

"So you do have a spark of gold, Megatron," teases Y/n.

Megatron blushes and hands the necklace to Taranchulas. "Let's just get this started then."

Y/n sits down at the computer and Taranchulas hands her a notebook. "So how do you want me to help with this?"

"Just enter the codes in order and we'll do the rest," said Taranchulas.

*Taranchulas's POV*

Taranchulas sits down at the other computer next to the stasis pod that contained the Protoform. "Any news about that missing girl, Megatron?" Taranchulas asks.

"Silverbolt managed to find security footage from the cameras near the street she was grabbed at," said Megatron.

"We both know how Rampage thinks but why would he take a random girl off of the streets?"

"Maybe he's hungry. Remeber he's been known to eat humans and Cybertronions alike."

"Once we get the spark stabilized, we will go out and look for her. Local law enforcement, the humans, will be in danger if they run into Rampage."

After a couple of hours, the container was created to hold the newly made spark. Taranchulas checks on Y/n to see if she needed help entering the codes. "How are you holding up?" Taranchulas asks Y/n.

"Its a good thing you guys taught me how to read basic Cybertronion over these past few months or I would have messed one of the codes up," said Y/n.

"Enter the last code in and then the new spark will be created. After that, Megatron and I will be leaving for a bit. We are going to go help Silverbolt find a missing girl that Rampage kidnapped." Taranchulas watches Y/n enter in the last of the codes. After that, he checks his work and starts working on making the artificial spark to accept the spark fragment from Dinobot's spark. He hoped by the time the artificial spark was ready to accept the fragment, the fragment will reformat it and turn it into a real spark. After a couple of hours, the artificial spark was created and the spark fragment was inserted into it. After that Taranchulas and Megatron leave to go help Silverbolt.

*Y/n's POV*

Y/n was asleep on one of the hospital gurneys when she started hearing a voice in the lab. She wakes up and rubs the sleep from her eyes. She gets up from the hospital gurneys and looks around for the source of the voice. She grabs a scalpel to defend herself in case it was Cryotek who managed to get into the lab. She eventually finds herself next to the container that held the spark to be put into the Protoform. Y/n stares at the container for a bit before she heard the voice again. "Hello?" She leans close to the container to try to listen to what the voice was trying to say.

"Lil..lily..."

"Lily? Is that who you want?"

"Lily...LILY!!!"

The container started to shake violently and rattle. It was on the verge of falling off of the table. It shakes again and falls. Y/n had to act fast or there would be no hope for this spark. Right before it hits the floor, Y/n catches it and it was with that, was one of the worst mistakes she made in her life.

It was at that moment that Megatron and Taranchulas had just walked into the lab. Taranchulas was carrying a young woman in his arms, who was unconscious. Their eyes widen in horror when Taranchulas and Megatron see Y/n catch the container before it hit the floor.

"Don't let it...." Taranchulas could finish what he was trying to say before the lab was engulfed in a blinding light.

*By this point, my readers, you will have found out that Taranchulas and Megatron are creating a clone of Dinobot. Plus I've decided to name the reapder character, from To Melt a Heart of Ice, Lily. I kinda like the name. This part of the book will be quite long so please be patient with the updates.*
