Waking up in Dave's arms is something that I don't think I would ever get used to. It was nice, sure, but it felt so odd at the same time. I wasn't really used to seeing Dave this way. I never thought that I would ever depend on him like my rock.

With a heavy sigh, my eyes slowly started to open as I groaned. I hated waking up. It was always too damn bright. When I looked up to see if Dave was awake, his eyes were closed and he had a peaceful expression on his face. Honestly, it was was precious and extremely adorable to just look at. He looked so vulnerable.

I flushed and before I could really think about it, I craned my head up and gave him a small kiss on the lips, sighing as I did so. I could have sworn that his grip tightened around me. Pulling back, I shuddered and saw his lips curve into a soft smile. It wasn't bittersweet as usual, but pure and sweet instead. It also made me blush even harder like the little bitch I am.

"Well, good morning to you too, Karks~" one of his eyes opened lazily as he smirked down at me.

"S-SHUT-SHUT THE FUCK UP STRIDER..." I swallowed heavily and bit my lip, loweimg my voice, "i thought you were still asleep.."

He gasped dramatically, "y-you would defile me in my sleep?? How dastardly..."

Pouting at him, I flicked his forehead, causing him to chuckle endearingly at me.

"Oh, c'mon Karkles, you know I'm just playin'..."

"yeah yeah...." I burrowed into his shoulder and huffed softly, "you're so rude."

I didn't get a response, just a gentle head pat and a small kiss on one of my horns which caused me to squeak a little and elbow him in the side. Whining a little, I squirmed in his grip, trying to shake off the small tingling that went through my body.

"dave....?"

"Yea, Karks?" his fingers started to run through my hair gently, causing my breathing to deepen as I tried to snap back to reality.

"i-i-mm..." a small shiver ran up and down my spine. Letting out a soft breath, I tried again, "i love you, nerd."

He chuckled softly, the sound close to my ear, causing it to twitch down before relaxing at the gentle kiss placed upon it, "I love you too, Karkat."

We stayed in bed for the majority of the morning until there was a knock on the door and Dave and I instinctively sprung apart. He grabbed his shades and slipped them on before reaching for his hoodie as I listened for whatever Kankri was inevitably gonna spew out of his dumb mouth.

"G99d m9rning y9u tw9. I just wanted t9 let y9u kn9w that 6reakfast is ready whenever y9u are," with that, he padded away, his footsteps fading away into nothingness.

With an exasperated sigh, I looked over at Dave and squinted, "THINK YOU CAN HELP ME WITH SOMETHING?"

"OH MY *GOD* KANKRI. WILL YOU JUST CALM DOWN? WE'RE ALMOST THERE, JEEZ...." despite the slight flare in my anger, I brushed off the comment and went back to staring out of the window of Dave's car.

When they had come down to eat, they had just come down to practically force me into going for a ride with them. It was quite disrespectful, but it seemed somewhat important to them, so I went along with it. Although, now, I was regretting it. Especially when I saw a certain house come into view. I felt the color drain from my face as Dave slowed the car down in front of it and Karkat got out and opened the door for me.
