What a Lovely Shade

 Okay, hello again. I don't have much to say here, so yea. Enjoy this, if it's not too much trouble and if you don't mind.

We didn't do all that much. We just kind of went to a store to get more food and drinks. Actually, we even stopped to get a pizza on the way back. Sure, we went and saw some stuff. There was this nice waterfall, or some shit. I dunno. Eridan tried to tell us about it, but I was just counting down the minutes until I could go back and see Karkat. It was so odd to desire him like I did. I've never really cared about another person like I cared about him. He was absolute perfection.

Sighing as I turned into a place to park, I waited until everyone loaded out of my car to get out and lock the doors. Kanaya had all of the bags and Eridan had his arm around Sollux's shoulders. They were an... interesting couple. Something I didn't really think would work, but seeing Sol happy was really cool.

When we had gotten back inside, Kanaya took everything to the kitchen and Rose and John made conversation with the other two. I ran my ass upstairs to go and see what Karkat was up to.

Opening the door, I could hear the water running, so I waited until it stopped to poke my head inside, "Hey, Karks, you in here?"

Almost instantly, he started yelling at me. I didn't mind at all as he went off about how the curtain could be open and I could have seen him, something I definitely wouldn't mind.

"Karkat, calm down. I just wanted to know if you wanted to watch anything when you came out."

"DON'T YOU FUCKING TELL ME TO CALM DOWN, STRIDER," I rolled my eyes.

"I'm going to take that as a 'find a rom-com for when I'm done in here' m'kay?" without waiting for an answer, I turned on my heel and went into the main part of the bedroom.

Walking into the place where I was supposed to be sleeping, but wasn't because Karkat. I found my computer and grabbed it before heading back. Sitting against the headboard, I logged in to try and find a movie for him because he likes that and I just wanted to cuddle with him. Even if it meant I had to suffer through a mind-numbingly boring romance film.

A few minutes after I had found one Karkat talked about a lot, the adorable lil troll in question came stomping out of the bathroom fully clothed and drying his hair off with a towel. He saw me and scowled as I gave him a cheeky smile and a wave.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW?"

I shrugged, "I just wanted to spend some time with you... too much to ask?"

He sighed softly and folded up the towel. Placing it to the side, he shrugged and begrudgingly stalked over to where I was sitting. He peered curiously at the screen before sitting next to me. I side-eyed him and grabbed him under the arms to haul him into my lap, earning an indignant squeak from him. With a grumble and the defensive crossing of his arms, he leaned back against me as whatever started to play on the screen.

Within ten minutes, I was stifling yawns, so I focused my attention on Karkat as he bit his nails and scanned the screen. His eyes flicked over all of the details and the light reflected onto his features, highlighting each one. The only other source of light besides my laptop was a small amount of sunlight that flitted through the blackout curtains.

I leaned my head on his shoulder and felt him turn to look at me briefly before going back to ignoring me. My arms, which were around his waist, gave him a small squeeze as I turned my head a little to look at his neck. It was just... there, as most necks are. I leaned in a bit to give it a soft kiss. Nothing happened. Sighing softly, I kept it up, trailing slow kisses up and down the side of his neck.
