“Roman!” Patton called from down the hallway to get Roman’s attention.

“Oh, hey Patton… and Logan is there something you guys need.”

“We need to talk.”

“Okay, but can it be quick I have art class right now and I don’t really want to miss it.” Roman said trying to edge his way towards the art room.

“This is a tad more pressing than your art class.” Logan stated as he adjusted his glasses giving Roman a firm look.

“Ugh! Fine! What is so pressing that I have to be late to my art class.” Roman whined clearly displeased.

“It’s about the rog-” Logan started but Patton elbowed him in the gut causing him to make a loud ‘oof’ sound. He glared at Patton. “Fine! It’s about the stray I was telling you about at lunch. There happy Patton.”

“That’s better I guess.” Patton said with a childish pout.

“What a about the Mutt.” Roman growled. “Did you get rid of him like I ordered.”

“Ro, please! He doesn’t know anything!” Patton begged.

“How do you know for sure Patton? He could be lying!” Roman pointed out. Logan nodded in agreement.

“I see no reason for you to defend him Patton.” Logan also confirmed.

“Logan! You saw how scared he looked just now. He didn’t understand what was going on at all.” Patton pushed.

“Then why would he run away when we were distracted.” Logan asked “He had no reason-”

“He was scared! Why would he not run away when someone was growling at him with glowing blue eyes. That’s not really something you see in everyday life now is it?” Patton said getting angry with Logan.

“Well, technically I do see that sort of thing in everyday life considering the fact of-”

“For the love of… Ugh you know what I meant Logan!” Patton yelled frustratedly.

“Well, how could I know what you meant if you weren’t specific.” Logan argued back.

“Okay, silence to thee and silence to thee. Focus on issues or focus on me.” Roman said shutting the argueing pair up. “Look, Patton I’m sorry if you have taken a liking to this rogue.” Patton grumbled at the use of the word, but stayed otherwise quite. “But I don’t believe that he didn't know about us. It just doesn’t make sense.  I mean how could he not know? If he is almost eighteen then he should have shifted way sooner than now, like when he was sixteen. So, that leaves me to believe that he is some sort of spy that is playing dumb so we don’t kill him. Which is stupid considering we can obviously tell he is one of us. I mean I’ve smelled him on campus all day and I haven’t even seen him in person. He needs to go Patton. Simple as that.”

“Ugh! Can you at least wait until you meet him? Then you’ll understand what I am talking about.” Patton begged.

“Why are you defending him!? You don’t even know him!” Logan growled, but there was clear hurt in his eyes. Hearing Patton defend someone else felt wrong to him. It hurt and made Logan mad at the same time. Being inept at emotions this made Logan lash out in anger.

“I’m just trying to see the good in others! He was scared! He didn’t know what was happening!” Patton tried to get the two to see what he was talking about.

“Or he is a good actor.” Roman rebutiled.

“And clearly it isn’t hard to fool a fool.” Logan stated still angry, but the hurt in Patton’s eyes made him want to take it back immediately. “Patton, I-”

“No, Logan. You clearly don’t trust my judgement, but I am going to prove that Virgil isn’t a bad guy.” With that Patton stormed off.

“Patton! Wait!”

“I’ll see you two in English!” He hollard back and like that he was gone.

“He is being foolish right? I’m not the bad guy here right?” Logan asked to Roman desperately.
