“Hey Molly?” Virgil said knocking gently on her door. “Patton said you wanted to see me when I woke up. Well, I’m awake now so…”
Molly opened the door with a smile on her face. “Oh, hi Virgie!”
“Hey, I’m sorry about before… I’m not really sure what came over me and-” Virgil was stopped by petite arms wrapping around him.
“It’s okay Virgil. I get it. If I could kill him I would.” She said her eyes flashing as her grip tightened around Virgil slightly. Virgil couldn’t see but he could feel her tense, but when she pulled away a bright smile was plastered on her face.
Molly glanced at Virgil’s slightly exposed mark peeking through Virgil’s shirt. Her eyes seemed to get stars in her eyes as she clasped her hands in front of her face bouncing on the ball of her feet.
“My ship is cannon!” She whispered yelled. “It’s about damn time!” She said throwing her arms in the air and jumping in a circle.
“Okay, okay calm down Molly. It’s not that big of a deal.” Virgil said putting his hands on her shoulders to stop her from spinning. She beamed up at him innocently. Then it morphed into something a bit mischievous as an idea flashed in her eyes, and Virgil paled recognizing the look in his eyes. “Don’t you dare!”
She broke away from Virgil and darted down the halls singing at the top of her lungs. “Virgil and Roman sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love second come marriage third comes a baby in a baby carriage!”
Virgil chased after her his face bright red. “Molly stop! How old are you?” He said trying to chase after her as she ran different directions around a table in the kitchen. He tried to catch her but couldn’t get around the table.
She paused and with a cheeky grin held up four fingers, “This many!” She said in a squeaky childish voice. Virgil seized this opportunity to grab her. She squirmed in his arms until she just went limp. Forcing him to hold up all her weight. “Well now you’ve got me. What are you gonna do with me?”
“What are you two doing?” The two heads snapped up to see a confused Roman standing in the doorway.
“Roman help! Virgil’s bullying me!” Molly whined.
“I am not!” Virgil protested.
Molly licked Virgil’s hand. Disgusted he released her to wipe the spit away. Molly raced to freedom. She darted behind Roman and pushed him at Virgil. The two of them fumbled and fell to the ground. Roman lying awkwardly on top of Virgil.
Molly laughed “Now kiss!” She said while gasping for air between laughs. The two of them glared at her before starting to scramble to their feet.
“Oops, I’m in trouble.” She said as she ran.
________
Patton was hanging out his room when frantic knocking started pounding could be heard from his door. He opened it to see a smiling but frantic looking Molly.
“Hide me!” She said breathlessly.
Patton’s eyebrows furrowed, “Hide you? Why?”
“No time to explain!”
“Molly!” To voices could be heard yelling from down the hall.
“It’s too late I’m doomed.”
The two boys rounded the corner and smiled in victory. They had her now. Roman grabbed her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“If I remember correctly, I once knew a girl who was extremely ticklish.” Virgil said with a smirk.
Molly paled, “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh, but I would. Hold on tight Roman she’s a wiggly one.” Roman grip tightened slightly holding Molly in place as Virgil closed in. Then he attacked.
Molly shrieked with laughter as she tried to wriggle her way to freedom. But she couldn’t manage to. “Stop! No!” She said pulling against her restraints trying to get away from the dreaded tickles.
“Guys stop!” Patton said with a cold seriousness that caused Roman and Virgil to freeze.
“What’s wrong Patton?” Roman said confused.
Molly was too busy trying to catch her breath from the running and tickling to really say anything.
Patton ignored Roman and walked up to Molly placing a hand to her forehead. She froze up and pulled away. Patton frowned.
“Patton what’s wrong?” Virgil said his anxiety starting to build.
“Molly, you really shouldn’t play so rough when you aren’t feeling good.” Patton said softly.
Molly clenched her jaw and looked away.
“I’m fine.” She said firmly.
“You, don’t look fine.” Patton stated.
Roman and Virgil looked at Molly with new eyes, without her bright smile they could see Patton was right. She was paler than usual, she had dark circles under her eyes, her hair looked slightly duller and she was still breathing heavily despite the fact they had not been moving that fast for a while now. Wolves don’t take that long to recover from being winded.
Molly clenched her teeth, but didn’t say anything.
“Molly, what’s wrong.” Virgil asked cautiously.
“It’s fine, I’m fine. I just get headaches. That’s all. I’m used to them. I probably just don't drink enough water.”
“I’m fine.”
“But…” Virgil tried to say something but was interrupted before he could.
“I get them all the time! If I let them hinder me then I would never do anything. We were having fun. It was fine. We didn’t have to stop just because my head is hurting a little bit.”
“Molly, if you aren’t feeling good you should lay down and relax. Don’t push yourself.” Patton tried to say gently.
“I said, I’M FINE!” She hollered and her clenched fists ignited in purple flames. She saw the looks of horror on the other’s faces and looked down at her hands and sighed. She took a deep breath and let the flames die out. “If it’ll make you feel better I’ll go lay down.” She said defeated. She shuffled away and headed to her room leaving the others in different states of confusion and shock.
