This was so awkward for me to write
Virgil yelling at Roman to wake up was heard throughout the pack house. However, a lot of the pack was out on errands. The only people available was Remus and Cassidy. They raced to the bedroom to find a very stressed out Virgil. Shaking Roman and begging him to wake up.
“Virgil, what happened?” Cassidy questioned.
“I-I’m not- not r-really su- su -sure.” Virgil whimpered. “We-e were um…” Virgil trailed off and his face got heated. “Uh not important. An-and for s-s-some reason I bit h-him. Next thing I now he won’t wake up!”
The room fell into silence for a minute before Remus keeled over in a fit of laughter. “Oh my god! Roman’s got to be in heaven right about now.” Remus wheezed out between his laughing.
Virgil’s eyes widened in horror at that. Tears started to pour down his eyes. “Nononono! I’ve killed him!?”
Cassidy rolled his eyes and hit Remus in the back of the head. He walked over and put himself next to a sobbing Virgil who was holding tightly to Roman. “No, Virgil Roman’s not dead. Remus is just a moron.”
“That hurts!” Remus whined.
“You deserve it!” Cassidy said with a glare. Remus started pouting.
“T-then wh-why won’t he- he wake up?” Virgil said trying his best to pull himself together. Remus couldn’t help but snicker again.
“Out!” Cassidy said pointing out the door and glaring at Remus.
“Oh come on this is funny!” Remus laughed.
“Does Virgil look like he finds this funny?” Cassidy growled. Remus looked at Virgil who was shaking violently and had tears streaking down his face as he just stared at Roman in concern.
“No…” Remus grumbled.
“Okay, well either be a good boy and sit there quietly and be helpful or leave!” Remus crossed his legs and plopped down to ground his arms crossed as he grumped like a child being scolded.
“Virgil,” Cassidy said gently, “He’s okay, I promise. He is just sleeping.”
“B-but…” Virgil choked on his words as he had a hard time breathing.
“Shhh easy, it’s okay. Roman really should have explained this before now. I am surprised he didn’t. I guess with everything that’s been happening he never got the chance. Did he at least explain anything about mates?”
“I mean Emile explained it a bit before I shifted, and after Roman and I didn’t really get a chance to.” Virgil said shifting awkwardly.
“Oof this is gonna be awkward.” Remus piped up and Cassidy shot him a look. Remus mimed zipping his mouth shut, locking it and throwing away the key.
“Well, to put it simply,” Deceit stated. “There is a mating process. To basically strengthen your bond with your mate and make it unbreakable. When it’s complete you’ll be able to feel each other's emotions, be able to sense where your mate is at and know if they are in danger.”“But I thought we were already mates?” Virgil said confused.
“You are, but before you are fully mated you have the option to reject your mate.” Cassidy stated.
“The thing you explained to me before?” Virgil asked and Cassidy nodded.
“Okay well how is this related to Roman being unconscious?” Virgil asked still confused.
“Well, I’m guessing you two were um,” Cassidy was trying to find a way to put it delicately.
“Getting all hot and heavy!” Remus said laughing again. Cassidy stood up grabbed Remus by the collar of his shirt and threw him out the door slamming it shut and locking it.
He brushed off his hands and sighed. “There now we won’t be interrupted.”
“CASSIDY!” Remus whined on the other side of the door.
“Suck it up buttercup! I did warn you!” Cassidy responded as he sat back down next to Virgil.
Despite being stressed Virgil couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped him.
“I love him, but god can he be annoying. Anyways, what Remus was saying is you two were probably doing things along those lines. Correct?” Cassidy stated.
“Oh, well um…” Virgil stuttered.
“I am judging from your face being bright red I would say yes.” Cassidy said smirking slightly. “Your wolf probably got a little two excited and decided it wanted to claim it’s mate.” Virgil’s eyes widened. Cassidy pointed to the white marks on Roman’s neck. “This is basically a sign to all other wolves, ‘back off this guy belongs to Virgil.’ Also you won’t notice it but his scent is now mixed with yours. So he smells like he has his mate. This is just the first step in the mating process.”
Virgil balked “Oh shit! But why is he passed out?”
“So, this is the weird part, um werewolves when they get marked feel extreme pleasure, and they are so content and comfortable they fall into a really heavy sleep right afterwards. This is partially so the body can accept the new scent and the claiming. That’s why Remus said he is probably in heaven right about now. When marked you have really pleasant dreams.”
Virgil was so bright red fire engines would be jealous. Virgil was going to say something but Cassidy beat him to it. “Oh and just fair warning when he wakes up his wolf is going to be very pushy. He is going to want to mark you so the world knows that you his. If you want to wait though it is possible just tell him no, Roman probably has enough self control to wait.” Cassidy stated.
Wait only ‘probably’?
“But,” Cassidy smirked. “Who knows if you’ll want him to stop at that moment.”
Virgil covered his face and groaned in embarrassment, “How long until he wakes up?” Virgil said trying to avoid what Cassidy just said.
“A couple hours probably.” Cassidy stood up, “Are you good now? My mate is pouting childishly in the hallway and I need to deal with him.”
Virgil nodded before Cassidy left the room.
Virgil pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. “This is seriously the last thing I needed right now.”
