The next morning the entire pack house was woken by the smell of bacon cooking. They all groggily made their way downstairs to investigate  the smell. They all look at eachother confused. Everyone was standing outside of the kitchen and Molly was surely still in bed so who could be making breakfast?

They entered the kitchen and were shocked to find they were wrong. Standing there with a smile on her face was Molly. She was wearing a purple apron as she spun around the room putting things together. She had bacon cooking on the stove several large stacks of blueberry pancakes sitting on the table, eggs sitting on the counter waiting to be added to the skillet. She floated around the room humming softly as she worked.

“Molly? Shouldn’t you be in bed?” Virgil questioned as the whole group stared at her.

“Nope! For the first time in forever I didn’t wake up with a headache, so I decided as a thank you for all your guys love and support throughout that I would make you some breakfast.” She said smiling. “Go ahead and sit down you guys it’ll be done in a second.”

“Is there anything I can do to help?” Patton offered.

Molly shook her head, “Nope, I got this.” She said confidently.

Every one sat down and waited patiently to get their food. Molly danced around setting the table and get everyone their drinks. She even customized them for everyone's preference. Two cups of hot chocolate, one for Patton and one for Emile. Logan got water. Remy and Cassidy got coffee to customize how they liked it with cream and sugar placed in front of them. Roman got some milk and Virgil got a glass of orange juice. Within a few minutes they were all eating quietly while Molly bounced on the balls of her feet.

“Do you like it?” She asked eagerly waiting for their approval.

A chorus of “mhmm’s” and nods filled the rooms their mouths to full to give a proper response.

Molly rolled her eyes and laughed. She went and squatted next to Virgil as he sat, “Hey, hey Virgil, hey, hey, hey Virgil.” She said annoyingly poking his arm.

“What?” Virgil muffled through his mouthful of pancake and syrup.

“I was wondering…. Can we go for a run!” She said enthusiastically, like a small child.

Virgil swallowed his pancakes, “I don’t know Molly, you are just now feeling better. I don’t want you to push yourself…”

“I’m fine, honest. I need to go for a run. Please!” She said desperately. And almost a little frantically.

“Alright fine.” Virgil said not being able to say no.

“Yay!” Molly said springing up from her crouched position.

“I’ll come to.” Roman said casually.

“NO!” Molly said spinning around to face Roman. The whole room stared at her in shock. She looked around at everyone her eyes darting from person to person. “I-I mean…” She ducked her head. “I’m sorry Roman, I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just you and Virgil are always together anymore, and I never get any one on one time with him anymore. I was just hoping it could be me and Virgil, but I understand if you don’t want me to. Especially after that kind of outburst.”

“No, that’s alright Molly,” Virgil said jumping in, “Roman you know I adore you, but maybe a little time with my sister would be a good thing. Don’t you think?” Virgil said giving Roman a look that told him he was going to have to agree.

“That’s fine as long as you two stay within the pack borders and are extremely careful.” Roman said easily.

“Roman, you do know who your talking to right?” Virgil said with a raised eyebrow. “I’m always careful.”

________

Molly and Virgil left almost immediately after breakfast. They shifted and started running. They darted around the pack territory barking and playing. They even went swimming in their wolf forms at one point. The two of them looked like yin and yang with their black and white coloring as circled each other dashing about the forest. Virgil was having so much fun, and he was still so new to shifting he couldn’t help but get lost in his wolf’s adrenaline. He kind of lost track of time and where he was. He was relying on Molly to keep them where they were supposed to be. He chased after her for what felt like minutes, but was actually hours. It wasn’t until Molly stopped running and turned around to face Virgil did the adrenaline start to wear off. They stared at each other panting heavily.

It was at this point that Virgil decided to look around and see where they were. It was dark. Which was odd. He knew it was still fairly early when they left, so he was surprised to see how late it had gotten. He also realized he didn’t really recognize any of the smells around him. Virgil’s eyes widened.

They weren’t on their pack territory anymore!

Virgil quickly shifted and looked at Molly to see she had shifted to. “Molly where are we?”  He asked feeling fear creep into his body.

Molly had tears pouring down her face, she couldn’t look Virgil in the eyes. Her hand twitched and purple flames surrounded them on all sides.

“Molly! What are you doing?” Virgil demanded.

Molly shook her head violently. Before she brought her eyes up she looked over Virgil’s shoulder and she flinched.

“I’m sorry!” She sobbed, “I’m so, so sorry!” She said wrapping her arms around herself and falling to her knees.

Virgil was about to go to her when pain shot through his skull. His world tilted as his body fell to the ground. The last thing he heard before the world faded into oblivion was a gruff ugly voice speaking.

“You did well Molly.”

Then Virgil's world went black.
