Virgil had started doing a few more things now. He had explored the house which was huge. There was a large training room, an in home theater, and there was even a pool in the backyard. Virgil was lounging on one of the lawn chairs by the pool listening to music when Patton walked up to him.

“Heya kiddo! How’s it going?” Patton said bouncing on his heels excitedly.

“Fine I guess.” Virgil said with a shrug. Then he noticed Patton seemed to be holding something behind his back. “What do you have there Patton?” Virgil said suspicion clear in his voice.

Patton beamed, “Well, you seemed to not have a lot of stuff to do around here and I remembered the first day we met I saw you were drawing, and they were very good soooo!” Patton pulled out a brand new sketch pad some professional looking pencils and some expensive looking colored pencils and presented them to Virgil. Virgil blinked stunned.

“Oh, uh thanks.” He grabbed the gift being presented to him and thumbed through the pages of the notebook. He spotted something on the first page and flipped back to it. On it read, ‘To: Virgil, From Your Friend: Patton’ around it was a bunch of little poorly drawn but cute little purple flowers. Virgil felt a smile tug at his lips, but quickly covered it up.

“Do you like it?” Patton asked still bouncing on his heels excited.

“It’s…” Virgil was in awe really, but covered it. “It’s alright I guess.”

Patton wasn’t deterred however, “By the way, I was thinking maybe we should go shopping. You are probably tired of borrowing clothes from everyone else. I was thinking of me, you, Roman and Logan could go together. I need some new stuff, and Logan gets dragged along whenever I go out, and Roman loves shopping and is always looking for an excuse to get out.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea Patton. Me around a bunch of humans? I can’t control when I shift or if my eyes are glowing or whatever, plus there is a missing person’s bulletin out for me right now. My face alone is going to raise some red flags.” Virgil said anxiously. His brain immediately going into overdrive about all the what if situations if something goes wrong.

“Well, kiddo we can work it out that we go out at the end of the week and I can can get Remus and Cassidy to help you train before then. They are good teachers. I would suggest Logan as a teacher, but the whole wolf thing is mostly emotional based and you may have noticed Logan isn’t really good with those. I am but I am a bad teacher. I would also suggest Emile, but he is busy with pack doctor stuff during the day usually. And for the whole missing person thing. Logan, Roman, and I will be there to help get you out of any sticky situation.” Patton rambled happily.

“I don’t know Pat…” Virgil said still not convinced.

“Oh come on please! You need to get out of this stuffy house please!” Patton turned up the puppy dog eyes to 11 and Virgil was struggling against them.

“Well um,” Virgil struggled but then Patton stuck out his lower lip and it quivered slightly and his eyes seemed to get bigger and more sad. “Ugh! Fine! Just stop with the sad eyes!”

It was like a switch flipped and Patton beamed brightly. “Yay! I’ll go make the arrangements.” And like that he was gone. Virgil just sat there dumbfounded.

Logan came out a minute later with a smirk on his face. “I have just been informed that we are going shopping at the end of the week.” Virgil groaned and covered his face with his hands.

“He use the puppy eyes on you?” Logan asked knowingly.

“He used the puppy eyes on me.” Virgil said exasperated.

“Don’t feel bad, no one can resist them.” Logan stated as he walked back into the house. Virgil watched him go before he grabbed his new sketch book and started doodling in it.

________

“So you want to get some training in before your double date.” Remus said with a smirk. Cassidy rolled his eyes as Virgil’s face flushed slightly.

“It’s not a date. I just need new clothes.” Virgil said defensively.

“Suuuurrrreee!” Remus said a glint in his eyes.

“So, what kind of training did you want to do?” Cassidy asked trying to get back on subject. He loved his mate, but Remus was easily distracted.

“I need some help getting control of my shifting.” Virgil stated.

“Oh poo! I guess this is one for you Cas” Remus said disappointment in his voice. Virgil was confused. He thought they both could help.

“Remus is good at combat training and strength stuff. I am better equipped to help with training new shifters.” Cassidy explained.

“Oh.” Virgil said simply.

“We are however, going to have to take you to the dungeon while we do this.” Cassidy stated.

“Why?”

“Because your wolf is still unpredictable. We don’t know what he’ll do if he takes over like last time. He was actually pretty unstable when you first shifted. Aggressive too. It took a couple days for him to calm down enough for Roman to go into the cell with you.” Cassidy explained.

“Oh.” Virgl said again.

After that they all made their way down the stairs into the dark dank dungeon.
They went into the same cell Virgil was in before.

“Now I want you to try shifting.”

“I don’t know how.” Virgil said.

“Well obviously I am going to explain it to you.”

“Will it hurt?” Virgil said unease flutteringing in his stomach.

“Yes!” Remus said a glint in his eyes that Virgil did not want to decipher. Virgil shrunk into himself uncomfortably.

“Ignore him” Cassidy said which cause Remus to pout.

“So it won’t hurt?” Virgil said feeling confused.

“Oh, no, don't get me wrong the first few times you shift hurt like hell. It takes a while for your body to grow a tolerance for it, but it won’t be as bad and shouldn’t take even half as long as your first shift did. Ten minutes tops.” Cassidy stated.

Virgil sighed, “Okay, how do I do this?”

“Well you need to imagine yourself as a wolf. You need to try and remember how it felt being like that. The fur covering all of your skin. The way the color of the world changes. And then once you have shifted when you are ready to come back all you have to do is remember how you are as a human. Imagine Your fingers, Your hair, Your human teeth things like that and you should be able to shift right back.”

“Should?” Virgil said concerned.

“Well it’s no guarantee you’ll even be aware. You weren’t last time. However I think it shouldn’t be a problem.” Cassidy elaborated.

“Alright. I’ll try.”
