Hell's Kitchen, a city filled with crime causes the actions of two to restore order to the city. The man, Matt Murdock, a lawyer who was blinded as a child gaining superhuman senses and the woman, Thea Archer, a private investigator who is Matt's ch...
I was replaying that press conference again on my laptop while I was sitting alone in my office, I should be working but I couldn't shake that Fisk has been always three steps ahead of us since we force spoke to him. I was halfway through watching the conference for the second time when I heard someone knock on my office door. I quickly paused the video then slammed it down before moving over to the door. Opening it I saw it was Matt, he looked just as annoyed as I was about what happened earlier this morning.
"Hey...what are you doing here?" I asked allowing him to walk in as I shut the door and turned to fully face him now.
"I told Foggy and Karen that I had a plan to take Fisk down but I need your help." He exclaimed I tilt my head, he was tightening his grip on his cane that he was holding as I took a step closer so he could hear me.
"You mean tonight?" I whispered seeing him shake his head no as I felt my head cock to the side confused now.
"Just come with me..." he ordered heading to my door I switched my sign to say I was on lunch before following Matt outside. We took a cab to an art gallery, we were moving down the hallway as I was trying to figure out what he had in mind.
"So this is a strange place for you to be..." I pointed out using my finger to signal where we were seeing Matt nodded slightly. His hand was holding my bicep since I was leading us to the main door. "What are we doing here?"
"Do you remember who else was at the press conference with Fisk? Other than Leland and the Senator?" Matt whispered so only I could hear him while I followed the signs that told me where the art gallery was.
"Sure...there was a woman. The paper said her name was Vanessa Marianna." I answered seeing him nod as I stopped in front of the door that led into the gallery.
"She is close to Fisk..." Matt began his hand removing from my bicep then trailed down my forearm to my hand, our fingers intertwined as his hot palm caressed mine. My eyes lowered for a moment to look at our hands then back up to Matt. "Just follow my lead." We entered the gallery, I saw many pieces of art on the walls but I also saw some men who were also out of place.
"So whatever you are thinking to do to her I wouldn't...there are some men here watching her." I whispered seeing Matt nod as I looked up to spot the Vanessa woman making eye contact with me and excused herself to come towards of us.
"How can I help you both?" she smiled innocently but my senses could see that she was a bit suspicious to see us here.
"So you're probably wondering why a man who can't see is doing in an art gallery?" Matt exclaimed with a smile on his lips and I just played innocent with a smile of my own.
"I didn't want to pry. I am Vanessa." She laughed to match with Matt's giggles and I just flashed a small grin again to not be suspicious.
"Matt Murdock...Well Vanessa my fiancee Thea here says that our apartment is a bit stark and I thought we could get some art to warm it up." Matt explained Vanessa looked over at me while I pushed our hands behind me so she wouldn't look for a wedding ring.
"I am really tired of looking at the beige walls. Just because my fiancee is blind doesn't mean we all are." I agreed seeing Vanessa smile while Matt's hand twitched in mine for a moment while I kept my eyes forward.
"Well what are you looking for...give me an idea?" she smiled I looked around the room at all of the art but biting on my inner cheek.
"I'm not sure. What do you suggest?" I asked seeing her smile get a small bit bigger before signal me to follow her with Matt.
"If you knew what you want then you would be just decorating. Art should speak to you...move you. Like this one." She began pointing to the painting in front of her, I saw a bright red painting before me as I tilt my head at it.
"Describe it to me." Matt asked Vanessa since I couldn't explain it to him not in the way Vanessa probably could.
"This is a sea of tonal reds...the color of love, hope and the heart." Vanessa started I watched Matt tilt his head using his senses to pick up on what Vanessa was giving off to him.
"It also could be the color of anger." I answered seeing Vanessa snap her face to me, she nodded yes to me as she was impressed that I saw what she probably saw.
"It strikes a perfect balance between the two." Vanessa smiled in which Matt made a small face of freak out to keep up the charade.
"That sounds aggressive." Matt answered in which Vanessa smiled moving from where she was near me to in front of the both of us.
"That is depends on your point of view." She pointed out before her eyes left Matt then fell onto me, I looked at the painting again then back to her.
"I actually feel more anger then hope when I look at it." I answered with a shrug seeing Vanessa pressed her lips into a thin line.
"Then maybe this one isn't for you...maybe you would like the blue one. It represents calm and stability. It could symbolize trust, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth and of course heaven." Vanessa explained leading us to the next painting while Matt's hand squeezed mine.
"Hmmm...Vanessa do you have a special someone in your life. Maybe if I can get inside the head of the man who won the heart of such a charming woman, it would inform our decision." Matt smiled she nodded before she could speak a voice entered the room, it made my blood run cold and my grip tighten onto Matt's when I looked over my shoulder to see it was Wilson Fisk himself.
"I hope I'm not interrupting...I was nearby." Fisk answered I could see Matt's other hand gripping onto the cane for a moment then released it before anyone else could see it. Fisk turned to see both me and Matt standing there looking at him as I nudged Matt to snap out of his stance. "Wilson Fisk..."
"Matt Murdock...my fiancee Thea Archer." Matt introduced shaking his hand as I also did feeling the tough calloused fingers brace across my own.
"The Attorney and The Private Investigator I heard about...I've heard about your works in Hell's Kitchen." Fisk replied his tone said he was on his guard and suspicious of what we were doing there.
"Mr. Murdock and his fiancee are thinking about purchasing some art. He was looking for some advice from a man of taste." Vanessa answered trying to break Fisk's hard stare that was on the both of us.
"That is simple...buy whatever the lady tells you." He laughed the three of us joined him even though even ounce of me wanted to throw up. I looked over at the other art while Matt and Fisk were talking about Matt's case that was connected to Fisk.
"Well Vanessa thank you so much for your time." Matt replied tugging my arm to lead him towards the entrance.
"Have you changed your mind about what you came for?" Vanessa yelled from behind us as Matt turned while I remained behind him.
"No...no my fiancee and I just need to consider the cost. Mr. Fisk it was a pleasure to meet you...come sweetheart." Matt answered we both headed out of the art gallery and back outside without another word.
"That was too close." I whispered so only Matt could hear me releasing the air that was trapped deep into my lungs from being silent.
"No kidding...let's get out of here." Matt answered still holding my hand as he flagged us down a cab and I entered first with Matt right behind me. We needed a new plan...a new way to stop Fisk but right now my mind was completely blank.
