Been Dying To Do That Again

My eyes snapped open when I realized I fell asleep, I saw the blanket was draped over my body and Matt was no longer sitting next to me. He was sitting on the floor in front of me meditating, based on the sky I have been asleep for a few hours. He was still shirtless and in his black boxer briefs, the injuries on his body looked like they were getting better thankfully. My stomach still ached but it also rumbled telling me that I was hungry. Silently I moved towards his kitchen wincing a small bit with my stomach injury but I endured it. It didn't matter how loud I was with Matt's meditation he could drown out everything around him. So I quickly prepped the ingredients that Matt had in his fridge and began cooking. While things were simmering I lifted the shirt I was wearing to look at the wound on my abdomen. A scar line remained as I took a scissor and uncut the stitches placing them into the bin. My fingers ran across the scar, it was sore but at least it was not bleeding anymore but my hand still had a small twitch. Closing my hand I exhaled relaxing myself before opening it and saw it stopped twitching as I returned to finishing up the meal. By the time I was finished I heard Matt's groans as he was stretching his aching body and eventually stood.

"How are you feeling?" I asked seeing him pulling on a shift that he had nearby over his body as he moved towards me.

"Like I was impaled and dragged like a dog." Matt groaned clutching his side when he stopped in front of the counter. I took a plate from the rack loading it with food and did the same with the other plate. "Something smells good...since when you cook?"

"Like I told you before...I learned a few things while we were away." I smiled handing him the plate as his fingers hooked onto the glass and took it from me. My hands took the other with the silverware and moved to sit in the chair next to him. After about a few minutes of silence Matt's groan caught my attention.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked he must've sensed something was up with me since I didn't say anything.

"You know...I almost lost you back there Matty. We were both bleeding heavily and I thought that I wouldn't get you back here quick enough." I whispered until I felt his hand touch mine, his skin was warm against mine and lifting my gaze to meet his face.

"But you did...you saved me even with a deep stab wound to your abdomen. You carried me on your back to my roof. You patched me up after yourself." he reminded rubbing his thumb across my skin as I remained still.

"How are we going to take down Fisk when we can't even touch him?" I asked watching Matt lean a bit closer to me pressing his elbow onto the table.

"We will figure it out." he answered my head snapped up locking my eyes onto his face seeing those blank brown eyes facing me but were looking through me.

"We?" I whispered watching Matt give me a small smile before giving me a soft nod yes to my question. His face seemed to get closer and my head mimicked his movements until we were really close. It felt like gravity was pushing us closer and closer together when I felt Matt's nose brushing across mine. Then our lips met as the kiss exploded everything inside me, I remembered when I kissed Matt back when we were kids. We were both new to it but by the way he kissed me now told me he had some practice since our last encounter. Eventually we broke away with his nose still touching the tip of mine as a soft gasp escaped from my lips.

"I've been dying to do that again." he whispered with a small chuckle and I felt my cheeks heat up red from my smile.

"Well better late then never." I replied quietly with a big grin on my face as he smiled then leaned in and kissed me again.
