CHAPTER 13

"Hey, Diana! Dito!" I heard Julia from across the street. There she was, waving her hand with such enthusiasm. She's so cheerful, maybe that's one of the reasons why Sebastian likes her.

Aish, Diana! Come on! Stop thinking nonsense.

But on the contrary, this isn't nonsense. How come Sebastian became such nonsense to me? I care a lot, but hey, I really need to stop.

"Hi," I stated once I got to her direction.

"Tara sa loob? Kain muna tayo, then we could actually stroll down the street and do some shopping. What do you think?"

Well, that's...awesome! I mean, shopping is fun, especially when you're with someone that treats shopping as a fun activity too, though.

"Yes, that's fine with me."

"Let's go?" she asked and headed towards the pizza parlor. She stated her plan to me earlier this morning, which by far agreeable. Pizza this lunch, and coffee this afternoon.

Nag-order na kami ng gusto naming kainin ngayong tanghali. After that, there's a moment of silence between the two of us. Jeez, I knew it! It would be awkward, considering she is Sebastian's girl, while me, I-uhm, well, Sebastian's admirer. There! Let's put it that way.

"In-invite ko rin pala si Ian, Diana," she suddenly announced which make my jaw drops. What?!

"Okay lang naman, diba? I mean, magkaklase naman kayo, and you two can be friends as well!"

Oh, no, no, no, no! We can't be friends! Because I want us to be more than friends! Get your facts right, Julia. Aish, set it aside, Diana. Set.It.Aside!

I cleared my throat. "Okay lang naman sa akin. Yun nga lang, okay lang ba sa kanya?" I tried to sound, you know, nice.

Iyon dapat ang tanong. Alam ko namang iniiwasan ako ni Sebastian. Sinabi niya na rin na huwag na ako umasa sa kanya, which leads me to state that I won't bother him anymore. Wait? Is this meeting counted? Eh hindi naman ako ang nang-invite, 'di ba? So that means, I am not...bothering him?

Nakita kong ngumiti si Julia sa aking harapan habang napapapalakpak pa ng kamay. "Yes! Okay lang iyon sa kanya, no. Isa pa, nandito rin naman ako."

Oh come on, Julia! Stop slapping it on my face. I know, okay? I know. I freakingly know.

"And in-invite ko na rin pala si Nathaniel!" Isa na namang balita ang nakakagimbal. How many people did she invite?

But yeah, natuwa naman ako sa balitang iyon. Well, buti na lang may makakausap ako at makakasundo kahit papaano. Akala ko magiging awkward lang ang sitwasyon buong araw dahil sa kasama ko si Julia at Sebastian. Worst, baka maging sweet pa sila sa harapan ko.

Oh, no, no, no, no! I dreaded that scene!

"Buti pumayag si Nathaniel?" I asked. Kasi naman, I doubt close na sila ni Julia, right? I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean that if two persons are together in one class, they are close to each other. Buhay na patotoo kaming dalawa ni Sebastian do'n.

Muli na namang napangiti si Julia. Seriously, bakit palagi siyang nakangiti? Should I smile more so that Sebastian will actually lik-

Aghhh! Diana! How many times do I need to tell you, you shouldn't give a damn anymore! Move on, girl!

"Pumayag siya. Syempre sinabi kong kasama ka."

Wow! Ginawa niya pa talaga akong reason. Pero, okay lang din naman. Atleast, pupunta siya. Atleast, mawawala ang atensyon ko kanila Sebastian at Julia.
