Chapter 75

It's been 7 months after Chaeyoung and Jungkook mourned for their child. 3 months since they were officially married. And 2 months since Chaeyoung resigned from the hospital. 

She thought about it for a long time, leaving the hospital where it all began. Where she met the man that would change her life. 

Besides, she spent more than 10 years in the hospital, maybe it's time for her to part ways with it. Even if she'd stop doing what she loves most, at least she could be hands on with her family. 

During the past 7 months, Jennie has announced her retirement in the fashion industry and instead would go abroad with Taehyung and enjoy her life. Sometimes, she goes with Lisa or her other friends, mostly with Irene. 

Though there was a rough past between Bambam and Lisa, she makes her best to keep in touch with Bambam's family. They still treat her like their daughter. Lisa decided that she would focus on her life, as of the moment, and not look for a relationship. She stopped being a photographer for fashion, instead she joined volunteer works in Africa and helped communities there. 

Jisoo is still Jisoo. Although, she and Jin are expecting a baby boy in a few weeks. They have both worked together as a team, though it's hard because both of them wants to have different things and they both have different opinions. They moved into a big mansion in the upstate of Seoul, where they could let their children grow out of the media sight. 

And Chaeyoung? She, Jungkook and Jiyoon also moved to a more rural area and now lives in a bigger house. Jungkook has been going to America frequently, Jiyoon has moved into a school for business heirs and Chaeyoung has been writing her long letter of resignation for 3 months. 

After the wedding and honeymoon, she has noticed that Jiyoon would be throwing a tantrum because her parents wouldn't give her as much attention like before. Then she thought of resigning from being a doctor and be a full-on mom to her kids and family. 

It was something Jungkook was against. But it wasn't like she'd stop from being a doctor, she'd have a clinic built for her and only do check-ups instead of operations. 

Everyone was slowly maturing. 

Everyone slowly accepted the life that they were destined to have. 

The change was uncomfortable for most of them but they had to bear with it. It was their decisions that caused these changes. 

Although it has been 7 months since the incident, Chaeyoung is still traumatized by it. Every night she'd have a nightmare about getting killed. She gets paranoid in the public. And it affected the past 2 minor surgeries she led. 

And again, she's having her nightmare. 

Something in her dreams keep telling her that Cole is alive and is going to find her. She won't be good enough to hide from him. It all still traumatizes her. She's still scared. 

Sometimes, she doesn't even want to sleep anymore. Even though she knows that Jungkook is there besides her, that the Jeon security force members has been double checked of identity, that Cole has clearly been shot by Rachel back then. 

Chaeyoung rolls to the side of their bed, her eyes wide awake and her hands cold as ice. She covers herself until the shoulders with their blanket and tries to breathe slowly. 

Jungkook felt her rolling to the other side of the bed, and so he woke up from his light sleep and back-hugged her. His chin on her neck, his hands around her waist. 

"Can't sleep again?" he asked and kissed her. 

She nodded and turned her body to his direction.
