Chapter 6

Jungkook PoV

"Jiyoon!" I suddenly shouted from my sleep.

It was just...a dream? My face was sweating like crazy and my lips were very dry. What's going on? Why did I just dream of Jiyoon needing blood? And me calling her as my daughter? 

I looked at my phone to check the time, it's still 4 in the morning and I drink water to calm myself down. I feel the need to see that kid. The weird feeling of wanting to protect her. What do you call this?

Most of all, why that kid? 

Out of all the children in the world, why did this kid make me want to hug her? Want to give her gifts? Give her as much love as I gave my family? 

Why..does that mother and child bring me so much curiosity? 

Park Chaeyoung PoV

I sat on my office with big frustration and leaned my head on my hand. It's been 2 days and I haven't been home. Has Jiyoon eaten? Is she in school? Is she doing her homework? Is she sick? Is she sleeping alone?

There's been so much happening in the hospital lately. Car accidents, accidents, and more accidents are so frequent right now and most of the patients are being sent to our hospital. Our surgeons are either on a sick leave or sick themselves. 

The Surgery Department has been in a huge mess, there were no time to think about our sub-departments. If there's an emergency, and you're a free doctor, go to the ER. 

Even Namjoon-sunbae is having a rough time. 

And our hospital is under the media spotlight because of this. 

God, I hate those journalists. I really do. 

I haven't gone home after since the change of plans of the department. We were all on-call 24/7 and most of us occupied the nurse and doctor's quarters. And because of this, I haven't slept properly for 2 days. 

And this was my only free time.

As I was about to doze off, my office door suddenly bursts open. 

"Doctor Park! There's an emergency!" 

I shot my eyes open and looked at the person who called me. Our hospital is now accepting foreign residents and one of the pioneers in the program is Minatozaki Sana, a Japanese resident. 

From what I know, 1st year foreign residents are not allowed to operate unless if it's really needed. And Sana is not even under my team, she's actually under the gastroenterologist team, who are actually lending us a few hands in the surgery department. 

"Doc, you look worn out," she says. 

"Yeah, just got out of another surgery 30 minutes ago," I answered.

"I'll buy you snacks, please proceed to the ER, doc."

"No, no. Please, don't buy me snacks. I'm fine, thank you," I smiled. "Besides, you're a 1st year, I think I should be treating you to snacks."

She pouted a little, "It's not about treating me to snacks. I just want you to be healthy, as a doctor as well. No one here is resting, and I just want to do a little something for my sunbae."

"Sana--"

"Doc, you still have a patient!" she points at her watch and heads to the direction of the doctor's lounge. 

I smiled at her. She's like an angel, I wished she was my student.
