"What? What do you mean? You have to talk with her family members?" Ms. Woo exaggerated.
"It's operation protocol, ma'am. They have to know what will happen and what they have to expect afterwards," I replied.
Jeon Shin-Hye. Jeon...that seems like a familiar name to me. But where did I hear that name from? Are they some kind of political family? Or are they a famous family?
I'm pretty sure I've heard from somewhere. And I know it might ring bells if I see their family members. Who knows..maybe it's an old friend.
"Doc? Everything's settled in the operating room, the patient's being transferred," Yeri barged inside the doctor's lounge.
I turned to her, "Is her guardian here too?"
She nodded.
"Okay, let's get going. Do well, Yeri," I said and turned around to Ms. Woo. "I hope you'll observe well as I operate on Hye Jin's biggest stock holder."
Everyone in this hospital has always thrown shade to Ms. Woo. She's always been a rude doctor, who is talentless and an awful boss. Her late father, Mr. Woo Jeong-Han, always thought of everybody as family in this hospital.
Not too long ago, the hospital was in the verge of being sold to the market and her father made sure the his hospital would not be sold or bought. And guess who did the crime? That's right, his own daughter.
She's just attention wanting, so let's not mind her.
I walk outside of the lounge and walked towards the waiting room, in front of OR 3. And just outside of the doctor's lounge, you first pass by the paediatric ward. Where all of the young kids are scheduled for a surgery or have sicknesses.
And I peeked through the huge window inside the ward. The mother's here always stay overnight and guard their children. I'm sure they all have jobs but they decided to stay with their children instead of their jobs.
"Oh! Doctor Park!" the nurse station in charge of the paediatric ward called.
They are close friends. Why didn't I think of becoming a paediatrician? All of their staffs are very friendly.
"I heard it's Yoonie's birthday! We decided to buy her a gift," So-jun, a male nurse, handed out a nice blue wrapped box. "And tell her to visit us next time."
I laughed, "Sojun-ssi. Thank you, I'll pick it up after my operation, okay? I'm sure Jiyoon will love it."
"Make sure to pick it up. How's Yoonie? Is her allergies toning down now?"
"Yeah, she vomits at the sight of bananas and faints at the smell of seafood. She's doing fine."
"Have you talked about her father, doc?"
"What do you mean?" I asked him with curiosity.
He quickly covered his mouth and the other nurse nudged him. I realised. Jiyoon was in the hospital a few weeks ago and she has been asking about her father after she came home.
"Kim. So. Jun?!" I shouted.
He muttered, "Yes...doc?"
"Did you make Jiyoon want to meet her father?!" he nodded at my response. "Sojun! How could you? You know she's very sensitive to the topic relating her father! And I've tried my best to keep her from those questions!"
"Doc..I.."
I walked out in our conversation. That's it, I have to go to the operating room. I guess everyone's looking for me. Last week's been hectic as well, most of our surgeons are getting sick since we aren't resting well.
