Jungkook PoV
Namjoon let out a big sigh as he sat down on his swivel chair in his office. What is up with this guy? It's just a medical mission, it's not like it's the end of the world.
He was very upset when he knew that 4 doctors from his department will be leaving for the medical mission we were all discussing a while ago. Is this mission difficult? I'm no doctor and all, and of course, I do not know anything about these things.
Whatever will happen to them, our companies can get sued because we risked lives of humans, which we are in-charge of facilitating.
"Hyung, what's wrong?" Jimin asked.
Taehyung, Jimin and I sat down on the comfortable seats inside the office and looked at him.
"That mission is dangerous, I don't want any of my surgeons to go there," he admitted.
"Why? What's it about?" Jimin asked.
"This place in Hawaii is really out-of-date. There are only a few technology-related materials. It's a starvation town. The people beg for food. Surely, they wouldn't last a month there!"
"What do you mean a month? That mission is for a month?" Taehyung asked.
"Yeah, it is. At least, the stay duration. This mission has been brought up years ago but it hasn't progressed because the US government wouldn't even bother to help."
"Could you tell us more about it?" I asked.
When I said that, they all looked at me, "What? I'm just curious."
"Okay, the mission is basically helping the locals. The place is below poverty line, no food, no water, starving families, ill families, no homes, basically, there's almost nothing. And what makes me more worried is that the place is very earthquake-prone. More prone that Japan, if I'm over-exaggerating," he paused. "I don't know, it's just that those 4 doctors are really brilliant and I can't stand a day without them here."
Taehyung laughed, "Okay, just don't think about it much. You know, you can video call them if you don't know what to do."
Jimin turned to Taehyung, "What part of 'no technology' can you not understand?"
"Well, I thought they'd bring pocket wifi," Taehyung answered.
"Aish, you idiots," I mumbled.
"More importantly, Chaeyoung has a daughter. I know her friends can take care of Jiyoon but...1 month away from your child? That's a nightmare for Jiyoon..." Namjoon sighed.
Jiyoon...isn't that the kid I dreamt about? She lost blood and there were no Type O people who can donate but I was the one who came compatible with her blood type. God, that dream has been making me want to see that kid again.
I've asked Cole to research on her and Chaeyoung but he hasn't been returning to my office with good news. All he replies to my messages are: 'got it, sir'. If I'm not wrong, the last time Cole took this long on researching about someone was when I asked him to look for Dongie-hyung's mom.
Which was a long, long, long time ago.
"Are you like... the godfather of her kid?" I asked.
Namjoon smiled, "I'm atheist, Jungkook but, yes, you can say that."
"Chaeyoung must mean a lot to you, right, hyung?" Taehyung said.
"Yeah. She's like a daughter that rebels, complains, asks, cries and a lot more. That kid is like my family," he laughs.
"But of course, he's in love with the youngest granddaughter of the Yoo family," Jimin laughed.
"Not like you didn't date Jeongyeon-noona during college," I said.
