"What now?", Ava asked, holding the empty glass.

"I'm afraid the second step is already moving on its own", Phoebe replied, taking the empty glass from Ava.

"How so?", Ava said, looking around.

Julien was approaching them.

Ava froze again.

He was heading towards the two!

"Oh God!", Her voice betrayed the panic in her eyes, and right then, the drink she swallowed started showing its effects, making Ava’s head spin.

Phoebe held her hand.

"No big deal. He is just a jerk like any other approaching," she muttered to Ava, discreetly so Julien wouldn’t notice.

Ava looked at the floor, feeling uncomfortable and desperately wanting to run away.

"Hello Ava," he said in a clear tone.

Her legs trembled with the sound of his voice, his voice... Gosh! The chill that used to run through her spine every time she heard him say her name was still resent. How could it be possible? Even his voice had such an impact on her.

Ava bit her lips to control her emotions, but she couldn’t control her rapid breathing.

Julien noticed the top of her breasts moving up and down.

She was beyond nervous...

"Just a jerk...", Ava repeated her friend's words on her head and pushed her own shoulders back, raising her head with confidence.

"Julien", she gave him a flattest tone she could.

"Are you enjoying the party?", he asked, between brief glances of what was around.

"Very much, thank you for asking."

"How couldn't she?", someone interrupted, widely smiling for Ava. His arm wrapping around her waist.

Julien gave the still nameless guy a death stare, as he noticed his arm holding her body.

"I can see you are in good company, Ava."

"The best", Phoebe intervened, stepping in the middle of them.

And Ava felt a second wave of drunkenness, and all strength seemed to fade from her legs. The mysterious guy felt her legs give out but kept her standing, like nothing had happened.

"Julien! Finally, I was looking everywhere for you. I want the drink you promised me...", shouted a blonde girl in a short golden dress. She could have been the same girl Ava saw at beach house or maybe not, but Ava couldn’t identify her because he had blacked out with her head over the mysterious guys shoulder, her hair hiding her face.

Julien, clearly upset at Phoebe's interference, was glaring at the three of them, not even looking at the girl who just joined them.

"Julien! Come on, I want some champagne." He just let the skinny girl take him away by the hand, but not before directing a tight smile at the guy holding Ava.

"Bye bye", the blonde girl waved, clueless of what just had happened.
