We are fond of keeping dates of the most important events in our lives. Our birthdays, our weddings, our graduation day and many other momentous experiences. It’s always exciting to think back on such. Sometimes it’s almost as though we could relive those moments. Pure moments of bliss. I am not much of a record keeper. Sometimes my birthday passes by like a flash, and it never would have occurred to me to want to celebrate.

I haven’t outgrown birthday celebrations; I am not too big a fan I guess. However, I am always open to celebratory suggestions. I am still quite youthful! One of the most important events in the life of a believer is the day they give their life to Christ. It is so important, you cannot just leave it out of your life. You should celebrate in commemoration of your being born again.

I gave my life to Christ on one Saturday evening in February. It wasn’t so glamourous an experience as opposed to Apostle Paul’s conversion. Regardless, it carries along with it some kind of panache. It was life changing and has been my favorite occasion to this day!

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. {he is: or, let him be}
(KJV)

Think of being born again like updating your IPhone. The change affects the functionality of the device and not the appearance whatsoever. If the color of your phone was black before updating it, it’d be the same color after an update. The sole purpose of the update is to enhance performance. To make it better!

The scripture above says, “If any man” be in Christ. I like that salvation is free to the entirety of the world. Salvation doesn’t leave anyone out. It includes all beings. If any man means, all humans. All people. All nations. God’s vision for the world is for the world not to perish. The only way God could bring us back to our stature was by sacrificing His only son.

The only requirement for being born again is to be in Christ Jesus. That makes Jesus Christ the only one that is able to deliver us from the gates of hell. Just like a visa is necessary in order to access entry into a lot of countries; being born again is the only way one could ever make it to heaven.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. {again: or, from above}
(KJV)

Jesus met a Pharisee by the name of Nicodemus. Up until Nicodemus met Jesus Christ, he probably believed he was headed towards the gates of heaven. He is among the educated elite. The best of people with all reasons to believe he’d see the kingdom of God.

While Nicodemus was a ruler or a leader of some sort, being born again was quite a strange subject to him. Had he not met Jesus Christ, he never would have had the chance of having salvation. Jesus Christ gives everybody a chance to be saved. He sends people to us. He chose 12 people that would disseminate the gospel to all parts of the world. He has always being in the business of saving souls. How much we need salvation!

Being saved isn’t scary. How could one be afraid of deliverance?  Salvation ends Satan’s legal hold onto the believer. Salvation saves us from the devil and makes us joint heirs with Christ Jesus. And if Christ Jesus is so blessed and mighty, we then become partakers of His glory.

Denying Jesus Christ is negating the power of salvation. Denying Christ Jesus isn’t just denying some person. It is denying life.

1Jo 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
(KJV)
