Salvationis another chance at life with God the master. We were all born into a sinfulworld with sinful ideologies and perverted systems. Nothing about that willever change. As long as we still live in this world, it's the devil'sterritory. The enemy never stops attacking and he doesn't give much of achance. Every battle that you will ever face, whether it be fightinghomosexuality, alcoholism or fighting addictions that might seem tooinsurmountable to break off, the enemy will not rest until he makes us fall.
Thereason the devil will continue to fight mankind is because he wants all ofhumanity to bow to him. To yield to his power. When Jesus was led into thewilderness by the Holy Spirit, He was tempted by the devil. It's interesting toknow that the enemy will never fear to tempt us, regardless of how spiritual wemight be. Think of Jesus. Could there be anyone as spiritual as Jesus? As Holyas Him? Yet, even Jesus had to fight the devil and had to resist him as much ashe could.
StudyingLuke chapter four will make us understand the kind of persistence Satan us. Inthe passage of scripture, he is described as the tempter. And at the end of thepassage, the Bible says, 'he departed fora season.' (See Luke 4:13). A season has no specific amount of time sadly.Perhaps if we knew how long a season was, we would better be prepared for thenext temptation. If a season were certain amount of days, we'd be more cautioussurely.
What's a season like? How long is a season? A season could be as short as even a minute. Just 60 seconds, one can be led astray by the tempter. The devil is after our salvation. Those that have been saved are being sought after by the tempter and in like manner those that haven't given their lives to God. Whether or not you are born again, the devil doesn't like you. He hates you and he is after your life.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
(KJV)
The devil's main plan is to steal our salvation, steal our joy, and steal our peace and to steal everything that God has freely given to us. He also comes to kill and to annihilate us in the Christian battle. The moment we become born again, we start an endless battle with the enemy. The only way to survive is to team up with Jesus. How could we even win if we are not born again to start with? Much as we might be in a battle, we don't fight it alone.
Ex 14:14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
I think it's encouraging to know that we don't have to fight alone. It's comforting to know there's a presence that overshadows us. Jesus is all we need to stay alive. He is all we need in order to remain strong. The more we understand that we are at war with the devil, the better armored we become. When a lecturer announces the date of examinations, he does it not to instill fear in us, but to alert us and to make us prepare for the exam. In the same way, knowing that we are at war with Satan shouldn't instill fear in us but rather make us more protective of the salvation we have. It should make us more prayerful. We should want to study the word of God more after learning about battleship.
