Wrap me in your arms

When I was little, like really small and cute, my mother would wrap me in a towel after I had a bath. It was natural for her to hug me right after I had been cleaned up. She'd then rub Vaseline all over my body, I looked so shiny that my body produced enough light to power up our neighborhood, or maybe just my household.

When God created man, He wanted to reproduce himself in man so that we could resemble him in character. It's the reason God cannot dwell in sin. Christ's dying for our sins was a prerequisite for our marriage to God. For God to reunite with the fallen man, he needed a plan. Salvation was God's plan for redemption!

Ge 1:26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

(KJV)

God has always wanted us to be like him in some ways. God is spirit the bible says. (See John 4:24). When we sin and fall short of his glory, there is need to repent. Repentance is a complete turnaround or a withdrawal from the things we would normally do. I received many chances and at the time, I never registered that God offered me opportunities to serve him. When I finally did, it was a miracle!

For many years I dated a lot. You might have figured that out. I dated because of my need to want to be accepted. In the first few years as a kid, I was rejected. I never quite healed from it and I tried to fill that void or emptiness by dating casually with people that should have just been my friends. I matured a little too fast for my age. I am thankful that I received Christ in late teenage hood, regardless, I could have been born again much earlier had I yielded to the voice of God. In his mercy, God gave me a chance I'll forever be grateful for.

Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

(KJV)

If you want to be God's friend, the only option you have is letting go of the world. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. Worldliness has no convergence with the Father. There is no oneness that exists between a worldly person and God. The difference between a friend of God and an enemy is that one is worldly and the other isn't. It seems like a very thin line and yet this menial thing is the distinguishing factor between those who follow God and those who don't.
