He saved me

20 2 5

God's mercy upon my life is so great that describing it makes it difficult. I don't remember a time when I never needed his compassion or his love. God has always been there to pick me up. He challenged everything about my life and having God in my life is the best thing that ever happened to me!

Being a youth, I know that we struggle with our identity and most times we end up in places that aren't good for us. We meet people that make us do the wrong things and though we know what to do, it always seems hard to slip away from such relationships. I understand.

Before I was born again, my greatest achievement was in the number of girls I could date in a month or in a week. Sometimes it was in the number of beer shots I could ingest before I was drunk. I wasn't influenced to do all those things, more often than not, I influenced those around me.

Life was exciting. Being young and exuberant, we want to feel alive. You only live once was the motto that rang in my ears. I needed to live life to the fullest. In my definition, living a full life involved partying and enticing every girl that seemed a little shy.

The shy girls always fell prey to my charm, if I should call it one. The introverts, they seemed quiet and reserved, but when they met me, their character transformed from being so isolated to being feisty.

Who do you hang out with? A person can change the course of your life. Just one person has enough power to make you different. I know this to be true. I changed the lives of all the good girls that met me. If they were dating, and they happened to meet me, that day, they lost their boyfriends. How you ask? They met me. One meeting was enough to change their relationship statuses.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

(KJV)

The bible is true. This scripture is quite practical. I acted out the truth that lies in this portion of scripture. Evil company corrupts good morals. Each time you spend time with someone, something rubs off to you. The more you spend time with people, the more you become like them.

It wasn't too long after innocent girls started acting strange. They had met a strange guy and that strangeness greatly influenced their behavior. Who is your friend? Who are your closest friends and what do you benefit from that relationship?

My life began anew when I received Christ. I started over. I was redeemed by Christ and offered a new beginning. It's not every day that one is gifted with a second chance, when I got my chance, heaven celebrated.

Lu 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

(KJV)

Heaven is a joyous place. When one surrenders their life to Christ, there is vastness of joy that is shared amongst heaven's dwellers. No place has more excitement than heaven when one gives their life to Christ. When heaven celebrates our repentance, hell burns in anger. Every person that will make it into heaven would have escaped Satan's grasp.

Now we don't like talking about the devil. He isn't exactly a comfortable topic to share. What we should know is that hell waits for every person that is unsaved. As long as we are still unsaved, hell is the place we are headed to.

Isa 14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. {Hell: or, The grave} {chief...: Heb. leaders, or, great goats}

(KJV)

We must understand that hell is real and no amount of denial will ever change that. What are we saved from if not Hell? When we receive Christ, yes, we become reborn and are now candidates of heaven. While that is true, another way to look at it is that we have been saved from going to hell. Heaven is a place for born again believers. Hard truth!

Having Christ gives us the confidence of being with God in Heaven. Sometimes talking about the reality of hell seems scary a topic, it's true. Hell is no place for man. It's the reason we should be knowledgeable about it. When a lecturer tells his students there's going to be an exam in a week, he informs them so that they prepare.

His information is not a way of instilling fear but a chance of getting the students to prepare. The second coming of Jesus won't be for salvation. Salvation is now!

Emmanuel, a great friend of mine and somebody I will always appreciate. God was so kind and merciful to have caused a divine relationship between Emmanuel and me. Had I not met him, I don't know when it is I would have given my life to Christ. I am not even sure I would be born again today. When a chance to be born again comes, let's receive it with meekness.

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

(KJV)

The word of God saves our souls. The soul is the part of man that contains: our emotions, our will and our mind or thinking patterns. Only the word can save us. In the little congested room, Brother Emmanuel preached with compassion. I do not remember what he preached about but all I know is that an altar call was made. That was enough to bring salvation to my life.

Da 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. {wise: or, teachers}

(KJV)

I know my friend is wise for having turned many to righteousness. He isn't the savior, but through him, many were saved that day. In the little congested room, a good number of people were saved.

There's two groups of people reading this: The unsaved and the saved. If you are unsaved, you have the chance of receiving Christ right now. Just at this moment, you can receive Christ. If you accept him, you would have accommodated the best relationship you will ever have.

For those of us that are saved, it's not enough having fun and going to church alone on Sundays. We can do more and attempt to evangelize and have more people at the bosom of Christ. God needs people that will help others know God.

BrotherEmmanuel, preached to me and through him I knew God. My very first knowledge ofChrist was through him. Salvation is the greatest miracle that could happen inthe life of a person. We don't have to be called ministers to share Christ withsomebody, if salvation is as important as it is, then preaching Christ shouldbe done with urgency!

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for dying for my sins,

You were beaten and whipped just for me,

You bled until you exhausted yourself for me,

You gave up heaven for me,

You rose on the third day after having dealt with my sins,

Today, I accept you as Lord and personal savior,

Thank you for accepting me as your child,

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray,

Amen.

To everyone that read this book, thank you so much. May God bless you all in ways you could never imagine and may He cause you to do more in expanding His kingdom. Thank you for your loving kindness and support, I couldn't be more appreciative! I feel highly indebted to you all.
