Chapter 20

After Rey left, she went to her room where she could be alone. She needed to talk to Ben and warn him that he might be in danger in the First Order.

She closed her eyes and reached out with the Force, feeling his presence and calling him to her.

She opened her eyes to find him standing there looking at her.

Rey stepped forward, looking into his eyes, her concern was unmistakable.

"Rey... is everything alright?" he asked, his concern now matching her own.

"I'm worried... about you," she answered slowly.

He stepped towards her and gently brushed the stray strands of hair away from her face. "About me?... why?" he asked in a low voice.

"Phasma said that Hux hates you and that most of the First Order doesn't like you. I'm worried what if someone tries to hurt you... what if Hux betrays you? What if someone finds out that you killed Snoke?... there's no telling what they'll do if they find out."

Ben gently placed his hands on her shoulders, he leaned down and pressed his forehead against her's, peering deeply into her eyes. "Rey... everything will be okay," he said gently.

"But..." she began.

"Shhh... don't worry about me," he spoke softly.

"How can I not?"

"General Hux is on my side, we're friends now I don't think he would betray me," Ben answered.

"Just be careful and watch him closely, just to be safe."

Ben smiled at her, at how concerned she was over him. "I will..." he promised.

Rey hugged him, laying her head on his shoulder. Ben gently rubbed her back, trying to comfort her.

After a moment she pulled away and looked at him again.

"How is Phasma doing?" he asked.

"She's healing well," Rey answered. "She must be an important member of the First Order."

Ben nodded and a small smile crept onto his face. "General Hux is close to her, and he has agreed to keep our connection a secret, bringing Phasma back for him is the least I can do."

Rey smiled at him for a moment. "That's really nice," she looked at him for a little while. "Phasma doesn't like you very much."

Ben smirked. "Not surprising."

Rey was a little surprised that he didn't seem mad, not even slightly.

"We need to set up negotiations for her release, I can tell that Hux misses her."

Rey nodded. "And I... I miss you."

Ben smiled sadly. "I miss you too."

Rey hugged him again. "When will you come?"

"Soon..." he answered.
