Kylo watched as the scavenger faded from view. He looked down and watched as the dice in his hand also faded.
Hux walked through the doorway looking around when he saw Ren kneeling down, looking at something "what's he doing now?" he thought.
Kylo heard someone coming up behind him. He quickly wiped the moisture from his eyes, not wanting Hux to see the tears that had formed there as the sight of his father's dice had made him think of Han. And then he had to watch Rey leave, he had given up so much for her, offered her the galaxy and in return she threw him away like garbage.
Kylo stood, with an emotionless mask and faced Hux. "General?" he asked.
"What in the world were you doing Ren?" Hux snarled looking him up and down.
Kylo stared at him in silence for several moments. "I... I was merely trying to find some clue as to where the Resistance went."
Hux's suspicions only grew "That's definitely not what he was doing" Hux thought to himself. "Well I'm sure you didn't find something" he snarled.
"I did, but it... it wasn't important." At least not to Hux, he added in his thoughts.
Hux roll his eyes "I'll be the judge of that Ren, so what did you find?" he asked.
Kylo tried to think quickly, but nothing came to mind, and in his annoyance he blurted out a defensive reply. "It's personal Hux, it's none of your business."
Hux's eyes widened. "If it will help us find the Resistance then "personal" doesn't matter."
"It won't help, it was just my... my father's dice, but they disappeared moments after Skywalker did." Kylo didn't appreciate Hux pressuring him this way.
"Oh," Hux's voice was sympathetic for Hux. "What do you think it means?" he said looking at the wall.
"I think my uncle was trying to bring me back... but what do I have to go back to? My father's gone, my uncle's gone... I have nothing... nothing but...the First Order." He was careful not to mention Rey, but he was wondering why he was telling Hux all of this.
Hux turned and looked at him even though he thought that Ren shouldn't have attachments, he was interested. "What about you mother?" he asked.
"She's gone too, she was on the bridge when the First Order blew it up, I felt her presence... I have no attachments but the First Order now Hux," he said, trying not to let his voice break as he spoke of his mother.
Hux looked him up and down "we'll see Ren, we'll see."
Kylo became angry. "You doubt my loyalty to the First Order?" he asked sharply.
"I doubt that it's the only thing you care about Ren, you have too big of a heart for your own good, you want affection so bad, and in truth you and I both know The First Order can't give you that," Hux said.
Kylo looked away knowing that Hux was right. "No one cares about me Hux... no one but my mother, now she's gone. No one else will ever care about me... I'm a monster."
Hux stood there in silence for a moment for once not knowing what to say. "We're not allowed the pleasure of having friends in this job Ren"
"I know that Hux, why do you think I push everyone out?" he answered angrily.
"Ren stop having a temper tantrum, you're not the only person in the First Order that doesn't have friends, and definitely not the only one who doesn't have a family, so just calm down" Hux ordered.
"I'm not having a temper tantrum! I'm just tired of you trying to push me around!"
"I am older then you Ren" Hux smirked softly
Kylo began to fume with anger. Did Hux really think he could boss him around just because he was older? "I am the Supreme Leader, Hux. Not you."
Hux roll his eyes, "yes Ren I know from the last two time you flung me into a wall and force chocked me, plus you always were the favorite" Hux said turning to leave.
I was the favorite? Kylo thought, it never felt that way. Snoke always abused him, and blamed him for everything that went wrong, while he seemed to treat Hux like he couldn't do anything wrong. If Hux had the Force, he knew that Snoke would have denounced him completely and let Hux be in charge of everything. But deep down Kylo knew that he needed Hux, he was strong with the Force, but he was no General, he was no good with military strategy. Secretly he knew that without Hux, he probably wouldn't be able to keep the First Order together.
