The next day, Ben was in the training room waiting for Hux. He had asked Rey to come too, because he wanted to teach her and he also thought that she could help him teach Hux. She was the most patient person he knew which would make her a very good teacher.
The door opened and Rey came in.
"Thank you for coming," Ben told her.
"You realize that when you were trying to get the map from my mind, I saw all of your training. There isn't much that you can teach me," Rey said.
Ben smirked, stepping closer to her. "Really?" he asked.
Rey nodded.
Ben leaned down to kiss her, pressing his lips against hers. After a moment, he pulled away, and placed his hand on her face, gently brushing his thumb across her cheek. "Maybe we can teach each other."
"That sounds good," she replied, knowing that they were stronger together.
"I'm trying to teach Hux to use the Force, but it's hard to teach someone who has spent most of their life being taught not to feel anything to use the Force. I need your help, will you help me?"
"Of course," she whispered before she reached up to kiss him.
"Am I interrupting something?" Hux says smiling as he leans against the door post.
Ben pulled away from Rey and turned to look at Hux. "Kind of," he said slightly annoyed that his moment alone with Rey had been interrupted. But he was too embarrassed to be upset and he was blushing fiercely.
"Don't mind me you can continue if you want."
"Um... that's okay," Ben said. He was too embarrassed to kiss Rey in front of him. "We need to start your training."
"Uh training," Hux complained.
"There is an evil rising and we're going to need your help to defeat it." Ben replied.
"Does that mean I have to enjoy it?"
"I suppose not, but hopefully it will be better now that Rey is helping with your training." Ben replied.
"Better for you maybe" Hux winked at him.
Ben's jaw dropped and he blushed.
Rey was blushing too.
"So where do we start red leaders?" Hux asked.
"'Red leaders' ?" Ben asked, confused.
"Yeah because your blushing."
"Oh..." they both replied, blushing even more.
"Why don't we get started?" Ben said, trying to end the awkward conversation.
"Fine by me" Hux says smirking.
"So what should we teach him first?" Rey asked.
"I showed him how to feel the Force," Ben answered.
"So maybe we should teach him how to use the Force," Rey suggested.
Ben nodded. "Good idea." Then he took out several medium sized stones and placed them on the floor. "Move the stones."
"Ok" Hux walked over and kicked the stones making them slide across the floor.
Ben looked at him for a moment then put his hand over his face in frustration.
Rey rubbed Ben's shoulder to calm him down. "Allow me?"
Ben nodded.
Rey turned towards Hux. "Concentrate on one of the stones," she said gently.
Hux kicked one stone harder.
Now it was Rey's turn to be frustrated. "No... don't move, just think about it, feel it with the Force."
"Oh you two could be more specific," Hux says.
"Just choose one stone and focus on it in your mind," Rey answered.
Hux closed his eyes trying to concentrate on the one rock it wobbled a bit but after a few minutes stopped and didn't move after that, instead the other two started to spin violently. "It's not working," Hux complained.
"It was, except you started to move this two." Ben pointed to the other two stones.
"Maybe we should move all but one, so that it won't throw off his concentration," Rey suggested.
Ben smiled at her. "Good idea," he said. Then he moved all but one of the stones. "Try again."
"No don't try... do or do not," Rey answered.
Ben looked at her. "You've been talking to master Yoda, haven't you?"
Rey smiled and nodded. "I met him on Luke's island. He gave me the Jedi texts."
Ben nodded.
"I told him that I was going to try to save you from the Dark Side, and he told me not to try that I had to do it or not do it."
Ben smiled, moving closer to her as he had almost forgotten that Hux was in the room with them. "And you did," he whispered looking into her eyes.
"Oh kiss already" Hux blurted out.
Ben turned to look at him, embarrassed.
"Well go ahead."
Ben blushed, but Rey reached up to place a gentle kiss on his lips.
"Thank you Rey," Hux said as he moved the two extra rocks.
"Um... where were we?" Ben asked embarrassed and confused. "Try again.... or ... um... don't try just do it."
Hux closed his eyes trying to concentrate on the rock but it didn't work, the rock would wobble a bit but nothing more "Uh it's pointless" Hux exclaimed.
"You have to be patient and don't give up," Rey said. "And don't just focus on the rock, feel the Force around it and inside of you."
The rock started to tilt and was soon standing on its side but as it did Hux eyes popped open and the rock fell the air was filled with his loud breaths.
"Are you okay?" Ben asked him wondering if he had pushed him to hard.
"No no I'm fine, I'm fine" Hux said his eye beginning to water.
Rey looked him. "Did you see something?"
Hux looked at her for a long moment the nodded.
"What did you see?" Ben asked.
"It was nothing" Hux mumbled.
"You can tell us," Ben answered.
"I can leave if you want," Rey added.
"No no it's not you..." Hux says "it was just a nightmare."
"Please tell us," Rey answered gently.
"It's...well...you tell her Ben."
"It was the same nightmare?" Ben asked, concerned.
Hux nodded solemnly.
Ben sighed, turning to look at Rey. "Both of us have been having the same nightmare repeatedly. You and I were battling Palpatine together, every time he strikes you repeatedly with lightening and then you fall... dead or unconscious... I'm not sure which."
Rey staggered back slightly. "I.... I've seen it too."
Ben gently touched her cheek. "You did?" he asked, his concern was obvious.
She nodded. "I saw him strike you with lightning and fell the ground before you crawled over to me. It was terrible, I wanted to protect you but I could never move."
There were tears in her eyes and he gently wiped them away before pulling her into his arms and holding her in a tight hug.
"I'm assuming you don't know what it means either?" Hux says.
Rey shook her head. "If only Luke were here," she said.
