Star Wars: The Rebirth Of The First Order

Chapter 4

"Rey, we're coming up on the crash site!"

Rey turned away from Ben to look at Poe. She returned her gaze to Ben. "I have to go," she said.

"Will you think about it?"

She nodded, she had no idea that this was what he was planning, to change the First Order. Was that even possible? But she couldn't think about that right now, she had to focus on what was going on. He faded from view and she went to join the others.

"Everyone we're going to the surface to see what supplies are left from the crash site" Leia commands.

Poe nodded. "We might even be able to collect some weapons... who knows maybe even some tie fighters. They may be First Order weapons, but they're better than what we've got right now, which is practically nothing."

"Right" Leia said "get ready everyone"

They prepared to go to the surface.

Poe went over to where Finn was sitting next to Rose. "Hey buddy, are you coming with us?"

"I guess I could if you think it'll be quick" Finn said gently rubbing his thumb over Rose's soft hand.

Poe smiled knowing how concerned Finn was over Rose. "It'll only take a minute, besides I'm sure the General will look after her while we're gone."

"Okay then" Finn said slowly letting go of Rose's hand.

Rey, Poe and Finn exited the Falcon and made their way towards the large amount of debris from Snoke's ship which had landed on the planet surface.

There was piles of debris everywhere and there wasn't a lot of bigger things like ships or canons in tact, bodies of white armored men lettered the ground their blood staining the ground in red. Finn knelt beside one of them remembering FN-2003, he could still remember his friend reaching out for him, but there had been nothing Finn could do to save him.

Rey came up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Finn," she said.

"I've known him since I was a kid" Finn said sadly.

Rey felt tears sting her eyes, she knew that Finn cared about some of the stormtroopers, he used to be one of them. Maybe Ben was right, maybe there could be peace maybe the First Order could be changed now that Snoke wasn't leading it.

"I'm sorry Finn, I shouldn't have asked you to come with us. You can go back to the Falcon if you want," said Poe.

"No this way I can at least give them a proper burial," Finn answered.

"We'll help you," said Rey.

Poe nodded.

"Thank you both," Finn said

They dug sixteen graves for all the stormtroopers that had fallen, Finn placed all of their helmets on scraps of metal he had found amongst the rubble.

Rey stood next to Finn, she couldn't stop thinking about what Ben had said, that the First Order could be changed, that some of the people were good. "Finn, do you think that some of the stormtroopers would change if they were given a chance? Do you think that if someone good was leading the First Order, they could become like the Resistance?" she asked.

Finn turned to look at her "maybe some if they weren't scared of the person, if they felt comfortable with them, friends maybe. But no one who could get a hold of the First Order would be like that, The First Order just uses people Rey, for evil."

She nodded. "I was just wondering what you thought, since you were a part of it once, you know it better than the rest of us."

"I'm afraid they'll all die like them I....I should have tried to talk them into coming with me, their death is on me" Finn said sadly.

Rey hugged him. "It's not your fault, Finn," she said.

"Thank you Rey your a good friend" he smiled at her, his gaze fell into the distance. "Is that what I think it is?" he said walking towards a pile of rubble.

Poe and Rey followed him, wondered what he had found.

"Help me with this" Finn said trying to move a big piece of metal.

Poe moved over to help Finn move the metal, but Rey stopped him and lifted it with the Force.

Finn smiled, "thanks Rey." Then he looked down to where a woman in chrome armor lay, her mask was cracked revealing her face, her eyes where closed and her short blonde hair could barely be seen under the mask. Slow breaths were the only movement she made to tell she was still alive.

"Phasma?" Poe asked surprised.

"It is, it's her. I thought I got rid of her for good," Finn said.

"What should we do with her?" Poe asked.

"Leave her here that's what she deserves, she's nothing but trouble," Finn replied.

"Why don't we take her prisoner, she could have important information. And we could also hold her ransom if we need to,"  Poe suggested.

"Well I guess so, she is pretty popular in the First Order," Finn said "But you have to be the one to carry her."

Poe rolled his eyes, "fine," he lifted Phasma over his shoulder. "Let's head back to the Falcon."
