After the Force-ghosts of Anakin, Luke and Yoda had vanished, Rey and Ben continued Hux's training.
"Owen, I know that you don't want to do this, but it's the only way that we can stop Palpatine and save the galaxy." Ben said.
Hux nodded.
"I think your strength in the Force lies with visions and foresight," Rey told Hux.
"That would make sense" Hux thought aloud.
"Perhaps we should hold off on lifting rocks and teach you to use a lightsaber." Ben suggested.
"I guess we could do that," Hux says not at all looking forward to this.
"Do you want me and Rey to have a duel first so that you can watch and know what to expect?" Ben suggested.
"If you can," Hux said "I don't want to make either of you feel uncomfortable."
"It'll be fine," Rey answered. "We've done it before."
Ben nodded. "Besides, it'll just be training. We won't really be fighting."
"Ok then" Hux replied.
Ben and Rey took out their lightsabers and stood facing each other. They circled each other, using the Force to sense when the other was about to attack. But they were each waiting for the other, not wanting to be the one to start.
Finally, Rey grew tired of walking around in circles with Ben's eyes boring into her. She swung her lightsaber at him and he blocked it easily, sensing her movements before she made them.
She swung her lightsaber at him again and the duel began. They were able to match each other's strikes perfectly, so neither of them seemed to have the upper hand. Yet Ben held back slightly as he had on Star Killer base, afraid that he might hurt her without meaning to.
Rey grabbed his hand and pushed his lightsaber down, causing it to burn a small hole in the floor.
Ben felt his heart racing each time she touched him, and he would momentarily lose concentration.
Hux watched intently, wincing when the floor was scared by the lightsaber.
Ben finally regained his concentration and managed to pull his hand from Rey's, even though he didn't want to.
They rapidly swung their lightsabers at one another again, before their blades locked over their heads as they had on Star Killer base.
Ben looked into her eyes, the red and blue light merged casting a purple glow on Rey's face. Ben became distracted once again, she was so beautiful.
Rey looked up at him for a moment, before leaning closer to kiss him.
Ben closed his eyes, kissing her back lovingly, completely forgetting their duel.
As he kissed her, Rey pulled his lightsaber from his hand. When he finally broke the kiss and opened his eyes, she had both of the lightsabers pointed at him.
He sighed, he couldn't believe that she had tricked him. "You win," he said.
Hux sit in the corner smirking.
Ben turned to Hux and saw him smirking. He pointed to Rey, "she distracted me," he said.
"I can see that."
Ben looked at Rey. "You can't do that."
"I just did," she replied, then she lowered her voice to a whisper. "Besides I know you liked it."
Ben blushed. Then he looked at Hux, "I'm sorry that you pretty much learned nothing except how easily she can distract me."
"It's fine. I mean I did also get to see a kiss, so I'm happy" Hux replied smiling.
Rey and Ben both blushed.
"Your turn," said Ben, trying to change the subject.
Rey handed her lightsaber to Hux. "You can barrow my... um well... your father's lightsaber."
Hux looked at it, it was so intimidating not only was it his father's but it was a blade that you could easily cut a limb off with and he was fighting Ben the best warrior with a lightsaber he had ever seen and he had seen a lot. Not to mention he had never fought hand to hand with anything like this before.
"Don't worry, I'll go easy on you Owen," Ben said noticing his concern.
Hux nodded walking forward.
Rey sat down crosslegged on the floor to watch.
Ben ignited his lightsaber, and watched Hux. "We can start slow," he said.
Hux nodded clearly intimidated by the dark warrior.
"Do you want to try striking or blocking first?" Ben asked, realizing that Hux wasn't ready to simply jump into a full blown duel.
"Uh...uh block" Hux replied he'd rather be able to defend himself in a duel than attack.
Ben nodded. "I'll strike at you slowly, move the lightsaber to block me. Feel the Force, it will guide you."
"Okay" Hux said preparing himself.
Ben swung his lightsaber at Hux from the left.
Hux surprisingly blocked but it was very clumsy.
Ben struck at him again from the right.
Hux clumsily block again.
Ben struck at him again from the left, a little faster this time.
Hux blocked again but his lightsaber left a sear mark on the floor "oh my poor ship"
Ben smirked. "Sorry about that Hux, don't worry it can be repaired. You have no idea how many times I've destroyed this room both in training and in... anger."
Hux looked at him blankly then shook his head.
"Do you want to try striking now?" Ben asked.
Hux shrugged how bad could it be? He just hoped he didn't accidentally hit Ben.
"I'm ready," Ben said raising his lightsaber.
Hux swung his blade at Ben less clumsy this time he aimed more at Ben's lightsaber than at him.
Ben moved his lightsaber easily to block him and waited for him to strike again.
Hux swung again aiming for the cross blade section.
Ben moved his lightsaber again to block him, using the Force to sense his next move.
Hux now becoming more confident went up closer to Ben's head.
Ben was slightly surprised by the bold move, but he lifted his lightsaber to block it.
Hux quickly kick the feet out from under Ben while he was distracted.
Ben stood up and looked at him in surprise. Then he smirked. "I think it's time for the real duel to begin," he said.
Hux's eyes almost popped out of his head and he stared to regret his decision.
"Are you ready?" Ben asked, smirking.
Hux nodded shaking.
Ben swung his lightsaber at Hux, aiming for his chest as it was was the easiest place to block.
Hux blocked it pretty easily and he could tell Ben was still going easy on him luckily.
Ben continued to strike him repeatedly, but not too fast so that he would have a chance to block him.
Hux was able to block all of Ben strikes but the further they went the sloppier he got.
Ben continued, swinging his lightsaber an unpredictable pattern so that the Force was the only way that Hux would be able to predict his next movement.
Hux continued to block for a while until Ben started to go harder, Ben hit down hard making the lightsaber slip from Hux hands and fly across the room.
Ben looked at Hux for a moment. "That was good for your first time, now I think that we should all take a break."
Hux nodded "Good idea" then he sit on the floor "that's tiresome"
Rey and Ben both smiled, laughing quietly.
