Landon
I was sleeping when I felt something cold and wet it hit, startling me awake. I sat up in bed, wiping off my face as I saw Asher standing there, holding a bucket.
"Rise and shine, Sleeping Beauty," Asher said, smirking.
I glared at Asher.
"We have a lot of work to do, and you aren't sleeping all day," Asher told me.
I threw off the blankets and pulled on a pair of boxer briefs, then looked at Asher with annoyance.
"Shower and get dressed," Asher ordered, then left the bedroom.
I grumbled, getting into the shower. I washed my body and hair, then got out and dried off. I put on some clothes and went downstairs to the kitchen. Quinn handed me a shake, and Asher gave me supplements. I gulped the supplements, then drank my protein shake.
We left the beach house as Asher had me work with the program he set up for me. I had to recondition my body since I lost muscle mass from the drugs. We worked on my endurance and stamina.
People don't understand how quickly drugs will wreak havoc on your body and mind. Addiction starts simple with a pill or a hit of marijuana, then when that high isn't enough, you begin doing harder substances like smack, cocaine, or heroin. To counter the stimulants, you use depressants. It's a vicious cycle.
We took a break from the workout, and Asher handed me bottled water. I gulped it quickly, quenching my thirst.
"You're showing progress, but we have a way to go," Asher mentioned.
"Yeah, Quinn wants me to attend meetings after the feds deal with Rafe," I said, looking at the water.
"Landon, Rafe is bad news. He hooks the dancers, and when they become useless to him, he discards them. I wish you never got involved with this business. Why did you?" Asher questioned.
"Curiosity, boredom, excitement," I answered.
"Why because you didn't like the lifestyle your parent's provided you?" Asher asked, his tone oozing with contempt.
I looked at Asher with furrowed brows.
"Just because your parents have money doesn't mean shit. It means you're a spoiled brat, who thinks they're invincible," Asher told me.
That comment pissed me off.
"You know nothing about my parents or me," I remarked, turning to face Asher.
"Don't I? You forget I came from rich parents and saw the pitfalls. You become arrogant and entitled. Don't think that you didn't know when you were raking in the money," Asher claimed.
Asher moved towards me until our face was inches from each other.
"You can stand there and deny the truth, but you're a strung-out junkie, who thinks Daddy will rescue them," Asher told me.
I nodded, looking at Asher.
"Did you not get enough love as a child? Because we know Lexie is your parent's favorite child. Poor Landon didn't get the love he wanted," Asher mocked me, pissing me off.
"Shut up," I mumbled.
"What? Can't handle the truth?" Asher asked with contempt.
"Shut up!" I growled as I shoved Asher.
Asher shoves me back as I swung, hitting Asher. He tackled me, and we fought as Quinn ran over to us.
"Stop it!" Quinn yelled, breaking up the fight.
