Asher
I stepped out onto the back deck and raised my cup to my lips, looking around the area. Small waves crashed upon the shore, and the sun was rising. Quinn came outside, carrying a cup of coffee.
"I figure you would be sleeping," I mentioned.
"Sleep is overrated," Quinn told me.
We heard the door open and looked to see Landon come out of the house.
"Rough night?" I questioned with a smirk.
"No, sleepless night," Landon answered, walking over to Quinn. He kissed the side of her head, and she handed him the cup of coffee that she was holding.
"It happens when you're up-all-night screwing each other," I remarked.
"Considering someone was watching us last night, I doubt that," Landon mentioned.
My smirk left my face as Landon sipped the coffee.
"What do you mean someone was watching us?" Quinn asked Landon.
"I got out of bed and looked out the bedroom window to see a shadowy figure in the distance," Landon said.
I set my cup down and left the deck. I walked around the house and searched the area until I found footprints in the dirt. I turned and looked at the beach house, seeing the window of the bedroom that Landon occupies.
I made my way back to the back deck.
"Well," Quinn questioned.
"Landon's not wrong. Someone was here last night, which means the person knows Landon's location," I said.
"Now what?" Quinn asked.
"Now, we move," I answered.
"The person will notice if we leave," Quinn mentioned.
"Not if we aren't who we are," I added.
Landon and Quinn looked at me strangely.

LandonI stood there as Asher picked a lock of a house two doors down.
"Do I even want to know how you learn to do that?" I questioned.
"Nope, because it will ruin your perception of me," Asher answered, clicking the lock. He opened the door and ushered us into the house. He closed the door, and I looked around at home. The occupants around here rented out apartments to people for vacation spots. Most owners didn't live here most of the time.
Asher walked over to a phone and picked it up, dialing a number. I walked around the house, looking at everything.
"Are you okay?" Quinn asked me.
I looked at Quinn. "I grew up in a life like this. How many kids do you know go to Europe for vacation on private jets?" I questioned.
Quinn gave me an emphatic look.
"Most kids wish for the life I have while I wish for something different," I mentioned.
"Landon, no one says you follow in your parent's footsteps. Trust me, I know," Quinn said.
I looked at Quinn and smiled. She grew up with little, but never dwelled on it. I admired that about her.
"I don't think it's so much about the life that you come from, but what you plan on doing when this is over," Quinn said.
I looked at Quinn as she walked away. I looked at the living room decorated with expensive furniture and items. People spend an excessive amount of money on useless items when there are better ways to use cash.
