Landon

From Quinn's shocked expression, she wasn't expecting my surprise. I set the table for a romantic meal and made sure I was on bender knee with the ring box opened, waiting for her. I enlisted Asher, Bradley, and Santino to help keep Quinn distracted. My dad helped me with the ring after I explained to my parents that my real reason why I didn't accept Quinn's offer.

Quinn didn't deserve someone living with her without a commitment. She deserved more.

"Do you know how difficult it is to lie to people and keep this a secret?" I asked with a smile.

"I have a clue," Quinn mentioned.

"Quinn, we grew up with each other. We fell in love as kids, lost contact, and reunited during a time I was at my worse. You didn't turn your back on me and gave me hope. I want to give you the world because you are my world. Will you marry me?" I asked.

I watched Quinn's expression change as she tried not to cry. It didn't work.

"Do you know how hard it is to maintain my composure now?" Quinn asked, sniffling and wiping her eyes.

"I have a clue," I replied, smiling.

"Yes, Landon, I will marry you," Quinn said with her voice breaking.

I stood up, removed the ring, and slid it on her finger. I pulled her into a kiss and hug. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her tightly. We broke from our embrace and sat down at the table to eat.

"I can't believe you did this. I didn't expect a proposal, and I didn't want to pressure you," Quinn said, in between bites.

"I wanted to save some money and purchase the right ring for you. Plus, I would rather make our relationship permanent. Quinn, I'm getting a second chance at life and with you. What better way than marriage?" I asked.

Quinn smiled at me. I didn't want to move in with Quinn and live together. I tried to make her my family.

"When I saw you walk into the club, I prayed you turned around and left. I knew if you stayed, then it was a matter of time before you fell into the same trap as the other dancers. Landon that isn't a life for anyone," Quinn reasoned.

"I know, but it gave me a second chance with you. If I can take anything away from that situation, that's it," I replied.

"Okay, then let's address the elephant in the room," Quinn mentioned.

I looked at her as I ate.

"When we get married, you will want your family there. What about Valeria?" Quinn questioned.

I knew the subject of Valeria would rear its ugly head.

"What about her?" I asked.

"Do you want to get married and your sister not present? Landon, I know you. If you say you don't care, you're lying," Quinn told me.

"Yes, I want my sisters there, but it might not be possible. It's not like Valeria is speaking to anyone. The last thing I want to do is argue about my sister on a joyous occasion. Can we table this discussion for another day?" I asked, wanting to drop the subject.

"Sure," Quinn said, nodding.

After dinner, I wanted to be with Quinn. I carried her to the bedroom and laid her down on the bed. I removed her clothes slowly. I placed kisses on her skin as I roamed my hands along her body.
