Vincent
I left the office early. Cruz inquired why? I didn't tell him. I needed to see Lacey. I arrived home to find Lacey in the kitchen with Kacey. Lacey looked at me while sitting with Kacey as she ate.
"You're home early," Lacey mentioned.
"I need to talk to you. Cruz stays with Kacey," I said as Cruz took Lacey's place.
Lacey and I left the kitchen and went into our bedroom located off the kitchen. After closing the door, Lacey looked at me perplexed.
"Vincent, what's happening?" Lacey asked.
I placed my hands on Lacey's upper arms. "Sergio came to see me at my office today," I said.
"Okay," Lacey said.
"It was about Landon," I said.
"What about Landon?" Lacey asked.
I looked at Lacey as she looked at me with confusion. "Landon got into trouble," I said as Lacey looked at me with furrowed brows. "Lacey, our son works as an exotic dancer at a club. He dropped out of school and got involved with drugs."
I watched Lacey's face contort to shock. I hated what I had to tell her next.
"Landon's working for Rafe," I said calmly.
"What? No, that's a lie. Rafe is dead," Lacey rebuked.
"Lacey," I said.
Lacey pushed me away. "That's a lie! Rafe is dead!" Lacey shouted.
"I wish it were a lie," I said, raising my voice. "But, it's not."
Lacey stood there, speechless.
"Do you know what it's like to have someone come to you and tell you that a man you despise, who went after your family is alive?" I asked.
"Are you serious?" Lacey asked me. She walked towards me. "Vincent, I dealt with the man for three years. He taught me how to be an escort. If anyone despises Rafe, it's me. Where's Landon?" Lacey questioned.
"I don't know. Sergio didn't tell me," I answered.
"Wait. What? Our boy is in trouble, and Sergio didn't tell you?" Lacey questioned me.
"No, because it's part of a case. All Sergio said was that his team had Landon, and he's safe," I told Lacey.
Lacey looked at me with a look I knew too well. Any time the kids were in trouble, we worried. I walked over to Lacey and pulled her to me, wrapping my arms around her.
"As much as I want to bring Landon home, I want him safe," I reassured Lacey.
"Vincent, that's our son. I don't want anything happening to him or the girls. I went through too much to bring them into this world to have someone take them from us," Lacey said.
"I know, and I promise that we will bring Landon home," I said as I pulled back and looked at Lacey. "Remember one of the rules when you were an escort?"
"Yes, I remember, and I know I have to follow it," Lacey sighed.
I hated making Lacey revert to her escort days, but we didn't have a choice. Now, we keep our mouths shut and let Sergio do his job. I will give them a month to finish the job; then, I will get our son back.

LandonI laid in bed, yanking on my restraints. I needed to get out of here. I felt sick.
"Let me go!" I screamed to deaf ears. I fought, trying to free myself.
The bedroom door opened, and someone threw ice water on me, making me cough.
