Vincent
I sat in my office, finalizing the acquisitions of Hawthorne's companies. I relocated a few employees, but the rest I terminated their employments. These people were no use to me.
At the end of the week, I will close the companies and sell the buildings. If a man like Hawthorne wants to mess with a person in my life, then he will suffer the consequences. I detest anyone who thinks they will play fast and loose with my love ones, especially my daughter.
"Excuse me, Mr. Powers," Valeria said.
I looked up from my paperwork at Valeria. "Yes, Miss Powers?" I asked.
Valeria walked into my office and placed a file on my desk. I opened it and looked at it.
"What is this?" I questioned.
"I was working on the negotiation of a company, and the president wants to meet me," Valeria informed me.
I sat back in my office chair. "Why wasn't I informed about this until now?" I questioned.
"I wasn't sure if the president would agree to the meeting. I know that you're a busy man, and I know I can handle the deal. Plus, Cameron will accompany me," Valeria answered.
I looked at Valeria as she stood there. My office phone rang, and I picked it up.
*******
CameronHello?
I cleared my throat and spoke in a high pitched voice. "Mr. Powers, this is Christine Mahogany. I'm contacting you regarding a meeting with Valeria Powers."
I cringed, then rolled my eyes.
Ms. Mahogany, I disapprove of people contacting my employees without notifying me first.
"I understand that, but I don't feel comfortable with men like yourself," I said in a high pitched voice.
Why not?
"Because I heard unholy things about you. You have some weird fetish with kinky women," I answered, then realized what I said. I facepalmed myself.
Excuse me?
"Sorry, I didn't take my meds," I lied, shrugging.
Is this some joke?
I could hear the irritation in Vincent's voice. I will hurt Valeria for involving me in her lie, which I had no idea what the hell she was lying.
"My apologies Mr. Powers, but I require Miss Powers full attention for eight months. I want to instruct her regarding the business," I fibbed. I thought it was a reasonable lie.
What is your business, and why should I care?
"We make an assortment of products such as tampons, condoms, and toys," I replied, digging myself in deeper.
Toys?
"Yes, we cater to the kinky fuckery crowd," I answered. The next time that Valeria enlists my help, she needs to write a script. Oh, wait, she did.
Very well, I expect a full financial report upon Miss Powers' return along with gifts.
My expression changed to confusion. What happened now?
********
VincentI hung up the phone and looked at Valeria. "I expect a full report when you return. You can leave," I said.
"Yes, sir," Valeria said, turning and leaving my office. I was curious as to what business this was that required Valeria's absence for eight months. I typed in the information into the computer and brought up a company profile.
I conducted several searches and found news articles about the company and the owner. I sat back in my chair and rubbed my chin. I had my suspicions about this business trip. Everything seemed to cut and dry, with the planning involved in it.
I will have Cruz investigate more. My daughter was hiding something, and I intended to find out.

ValeriaI left my dad's office, holding my breath until I returned to my office, then let go of it. I doubt he bought it, but it gave me time.
I finished up the day and left. I had to make an appointment. The doctor was able to meet sooner with me than the previous date. I left the office and stepped onto the elevator. I pressed the button to the ground level. The doors closed as Dad emerged from his office.
The elevator took me to the lower level, and the doors opened, revealing the parking garage. I hurried to the car and got in before Cameron had a chance to get out.
"Drive," I ordered.
"What?" Cameron asked, confused.
I saw the elevator doors opened, revealing Dad.
"Drive now!" I yelled.
Cameron peeled out of the parking spot, throwing me back into my seat. He sped out of the garage as I turned to see Dad running after the car. Cameron made it out of the parking garage and drove me to the doctor's office.
I sat in the backseat, fidgeting with my hands.
"The next time you give me a script to read, can it not be a sex toy place?" Cameron asked, annoyed.
"I know my father," I replied, sitting there, trying to calm my nerves.
"Well, I didn't appreciate it," Cameron mentioned.
"I don't care what you appreciate. Can we not talk?" I asked with irritation.
"Yes, your highness," Cameron retorted.
I didn't need this aggravation now. I had too many other things preoccupying my time. Cameron pulled into the parking lot, and I got out of the car. I went into the doctor's office and waited.
A nurse called me back, and I followed her to the doctor's office. I walked in and sat down. The doctor greeted me and explained my results more in-depth. She gave me my options, along with different possibilities of the outcome.
I nodded as the doctor explained everything.
"Now, are you sure that you're okay with the decision that you made?" The doctor asked.
I looked at the doctor. "Yes, I am," I answered.
"Did you get your affairs in order?" The doctor questioned.
"Yes, I made arrangements and spoke to people," I said calmly.
The doctor nodded. We finished, and I stood up. I left the doctor's office and walked outside. Cameron looked at me, and I said nothing. I got into the backseat. Cameron looked at me with concern as I looked away from him. He got into the front seat and drove me home.
We arrived to find Richard waiting for me.
"We need to talk," Richard said in a tone I knew too well.
I looked at Richard and opened my door. He followed me into the apartment. I had Cameron wait in the living room while I spoke to a Richard privately in my bedroom. I had a feeling things were about to get worse for me.
