Sergio
I dropped Joe off so that he could go after Valeria. I drove over to Santino's house and heard gunfire along with screams. I pulled my sidearm, making my way around to the back. I whistled, and a gunman turned to me. I fired a shot, dropping the intruder.
Another whistle came as I fired another shot, making another gunman drop. I made my way into the house, creeping around, so no one heard me. I came into view of a gunman, then whistled. He turned, and I fired a shot, dropping him.
I kept moving and glanced, seeing Santino ushering Lexie and Kacey through a doorway. I peeked around the corner to see a gunman emerged. I whistled, and he turned as I fired a shot, dropping him.
"Clear!" Santino yelled.
I holstered my gun and walked over to them.
"Is everyone safe?" I asked as Kacey cried, clinging to Lexie.
"We are now," Lexie said, comforting Kacey.
I rubbed Kacey's back. "Papa is here, precious one," I said, offering comfort.
I didn't want to inform Lexie and Santino about the current situation and upset them. I wanted to wait until we had confirmation.

JoeI showed up at Valeria's college and made my way to her dorm. I pressed the buzzer, and someone released the door. I made my way to her room and pulled my sidearm, then knocked.
The door opened, and Valeria looked at me strangely. I put my finger to my lips, shushing her, then pulled her out into the hallway. I glanced to see someone entered through the window and stepped into view, firing a shot. The person dropped as I left, escorting Valeria out of the building.
"Papa? What's happening?" Valeria asked.
"There's a situation, and we need to move," I answered, not elaborating on the matter.
I escorted Valeria out of the building as a guy turned the corner with a gun. I fired, dropping the gunman. I looked at Valeria.
"Run," I ordered. Valeria nodded, and we ran to the car. As fires shot, I returned suppressing fire, covering Valeria. I got her into the SUV, and she ducked as I ran to the other side, getting inside, then started the car, peeling out of there.
"What's happening, Papa Joe?" Valeria asked, terrified.
"Stay down," I ordered as I sped away from campus. I drove to Lexie's house to meet Sergio. We arrived and got out of the car, making our way to the door. I knocked twice, then once. The door opened as Santino ushered us inside, closing the door quickly.
Lexie ran and hugged Valeria as I walked into the kitchen. Sergio was holding Kacey.
"Any word?" I asked Sergio.
"No," Sergio answered, shaking his head.
"Word about what? Who were those men, and why were they shouting at us?" Lexie asked us.
I walked over to the girls. "Remember when we told you I worked a case many years ago, meeting your mother?" I asked.
"Yes," Lexie said.
"Your mother worked as an escort," I said.
The girls started to say something, but I interrupted them.
"It wasn't an occupation that made your mom proud to do. A man lured her into the business to sell her," I explained.
"Oh, my god," Lexie gasped.
