Landon
After my breakdown, I sat at the table, saying nothing as we ate. I had too many thoughts and questions running through my head. Asher and Quinn glanced at me and then each other.
"How is dinner?" Quinn asked, breaking me from my thoughts.
I looked at Quinn. "Dinner is good," I answered, taking a bite.
"Today was a difficult session, but I feel we made progress," Asher mentioned.
"Yeah," I mumbled, staring at my food. My stomach was turning as I looked at the menu.
"I thought that tomorrow," Asher said.
I got up from the table and bolted for the bathroom as Asher and Quinn yelled to me, running after me. I ran into the bathroom and over to the toilet as I heaved. Asher and Quinn reached the doorway of the bathroom and watched me get sick. All my emotions of my life erupted, making me ill.
Quinn walked over to me and offered comfort as I continued. Asher grabbed a washcloth, wetting it as I finished. I flushed the toilet and sat down while Asher handed Quinn the wet washcloth. She took it and wiped my mouth as I looked at her. Tears fell down my cheeks, seeing the compassion she offered.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
"Why? Because you realize that you aren't perfect," Quinn answered, offering a reassuring smile.
I reached and put my hand on her hand, stopping Quinn. She furrowed her brows.
"No, because I can't offer you anything," I replied.
Quinn lowered her hand and looked at me. "Landon, you offered your heart. That's more significant than money or material things," she informed me.
"I have problems," I countered.
"We all have problems. It doesn't make me love you less, if anything, it makes you human. I don't see you as the businessman's son. I see you as Landon, a guy that didn't care that I didn't have money. You cared about me," Quinn reasoned.
I looked at Quinn.
"I don't want your money. I want your body," Quinn remarked, making me chuckled. She giggled.
Asher handed a cup to Quinn, who gave it to me. I took a sip, swished the mouthwash around in my mouth and spit it into the toilet.
"If you both kiss, I doubt you want bad breath, Landon," Asher mentioned, smirking.
I looked at Asher and rolled my eyes. Asher laughed, leaving the bathroom. My best friend is a comedian. I set the cup down on the floor, and Quinn sat with me on the bathroom floor.
"Do you feel better?" Quinn asked.
"I'm getting there," I answered.
"Why didn't you talk to your dad and tell him that you didn't want to follow his footsteps?" Quinn questioned.
"You met my dad. He doesn't listen to anyone except my mom. Growing up, Lexie would fight but conceded. Valeria did want my dad ever wanted. I didn't know what I wanted or who I was as a person. Leaving school and dancing made me realize that I didn't want his life," I answered.
"What does your mom think?" Quinn asked.
"Mom thinks we should be happy even if we don't make much money. She hates money," I replied.
"It's because money doesn't solve everything. You can have it and still feel miserable. Look at Asher, his parents kicked him out because he didn't do what they wanted," Quinn mentioned.
