Linda sighed as she looked at the ceiling. It was three third thirty in the morning, and Danny was still working. He had called at six to say he was going to be home late. At nine, he called and told her not to wait. She hated when he worked into the early morning- nothing good ever happened after two am.
Half an hour later, the blonde felt the bed dip. She rolled over and got on her knees.
"I hate it when you work late." Linda hugged him from behind, kissing his cheek.
"Didn't mean to wake you." Danny turned his head and kissed her lips.
"You didn't. I just can't sleep without you."
************
Linda looked to the floor as Danny yelled at her. The bedroom door was closed, the kids were asleep, the house was dark.
"Seriously, Linda. What's the point of having a cell phone if you don't pick it up?!" All his pent up frustration was coming out. "The reason damn cell phones were invented so your damn husband can call his damn wife! The things were invented for such a thing! What's with you and not being able to remember to charge your damn phone?! I-"
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Linda felt the tears start to fall. She always found it scary when her husband yelled, and, to top that, she felt extremely guilty. "I made a mistake! So shoot me!"
Danny's heart softened, sighing softly. He knelt in front of her, hugging her tightly. He kissed the lee of her neck, jawline, and cheek twice, catching the tears. He kissed her lips sweetly, which quickly turned into passionately. Effortlessly, he and his wife shifted, so he was lying on top of her.
"I'm not mad at you, baby. You just scared me, that's all." Danny kissed her once more, then trailed his lips to her ear.
Linda sniffed, "I'm sorry. I'll try to remember to charge it."
"Is it charging now?" He lightly bit her lobe.
"Uh huh." She arched into him as he smoothed his hand over her side.
"Good." Sucking her neck, he slid her navy blue sweater off her arms.
The sweater left goosebumps in its wake as Danny continued rubbing Linda's side. She kicked her pink wedges off, as she started working the buttons on her husband's shirt. She unknotted his loose tie, tossing it to the floor. She felt herself being rolled onto her side, and the detective's hand sliding to the zipper of her dress. She sighed as she heard the zipper being pulled down.
Danny kissed her freckled shoulder before pulling her up in her knees. Lifting the dress over her head, he looked her dead in the eye. "I want that phone charged every single night. Understand?"
"Yes, Danny." Linda nodded, still holding their stare.
"Good." He reached behind her, unclasping her lacy bra. "What happens if you do it again?"
"I'll get punished." She felt her bra sliding off her arms. "But I really didn't mean to let it die. It was an accident. I-"
Danny hooked his finger under her chin, bringing her lips to his. "I know, baby."
"Danny, I really am-"
"Shh," he kissed her soundly once more, guiding her hand to his belt.
She smiled, relief washing over her. She was forgiven, and Danny wasn't mad mad- just worried mad. She slid the belt out of the loops, dropping it to the floor. She left a biting kiss on his shoulder as she popped the button and slid the zipper down. She pushed the pants down to his knees, then was lowered back into the mattress as Danny kicked them off. He shifted, taking his wife's breast in his mouth, getting a mewl from her.
Linda closed her eyes, her hands on Danny's upper arms. She bit her lip as he left hot, biting kisses across her chest and down her torso. She was well aware of the moisture collecting in her panties with each bite, kiss, lick, and suck.

"I really am sorry, Danny. I don't know why I'm forgetting lately." Linda was cuddled into his side, her hot skin touching his.
"So long as it doesn't happen again."
"I guess it's cause you're with major case now, and the whole tragedy of Joe, and I don't want you to die."
"I won't. Well... not yet. I'll be by your side, I promise. Forever." He hugged her tightly, kissing her forehead. "And always."
