"Hey," Danny greeted his wife with a kiss. "How was working at he children's hospital?"
"Danny," Linda sighed. "I wanted hug each and every one of them, and take them home. And love them and care for them, and.... I—" she closed her eyes and ducked her head. Barely audible, she wondered, "why can't I get pregnant?"
"I don't know," Danny mouthed, shaking his head.
"Ever since I was eleven, I've wanted kids if my very own. Little ones to love and cherish and have fun with and spoil and—" the blonde choked and started crying.
"Oh, hey, no, baby. Remember what the doc said: crying is just gonna make it worse."
"I can't help it."
Danny pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly as she sobbed in his arms.

Linda sighed as she looked at the babies in the basins at the hospital. She wiped her tears from her cheeks, her heart aching for a mini her or mini Danny.
Danny walked up to her; he was picking her up and afterwards going out to eat. He frowned when he saw her.
"I'm tired," she sighed.
"Lets go home then. We can skip dinner out."
"No, I'm just..... I'm tired of the whole thing. We've been trying for years, and nothing. I just— I wanna stop. The whole thing. I jus-" she closed her eyes.
Danny pulled her into a hug, letting his tears fall as well.

About a month or so after Linda had said she was basically giving up, she stared at the ceiling in their apartment. Knowing that she wouldn't be able to fall asleep, she threw the covers back and went outside to the balcony. An apartment with a balcony did cost more, but both the husband and wife wanted that balcony.
Danny rolled over with the intention of pulling his wife close. When he was met with cold sheets, he opened his eyes. He propped himself up on an elbow and looked at the open bedroom door. He sighed and got out of bed. He found Linda on the balcony, the cool spring breeze lightly whipped her hair and nightie. "It'll happen, Linda. Maybe through adoption. I know you've always wanted your own children, but adopt-"
Linda jumped into Danny's arms. She kissed him fervently as she wrapped her legs around him. He was taken aback for a moment or two, stepping backwards into the apartment. When he felt the carpet beneath his feet, he readjusted her in his arms and walked to the kitchenette. He sat her down on the counter and trailed his lips down her neck. He pulled her nightgown over her head and pushed his pants and underwear down. Stepping out of them, he held her face and kissed her once again.
Linda moaned her response, wrapping her legs around him once again. She lightly bit his lip as he hooked his fingers in the band of her underwear. Danny left kisses all the way down to the band of her underwear. As he slowly took them off, he kissed all the way down her right leg. Coming back up, he kissed her left side, then nibbled her ear. He picked her up once again and walked to the couch.
Linda bounced on the cushions a little bit when Danny dropped her. She was soon beneath her husband, his weight familiar and comforting. She held him close, her arms and legs wrapped around him. She moaned in delight as Danny entered her, biting her neck and keeping a slow, steady rhythm. "D-Danny..."
"I know," he breathes into her neck, "faster." He slammed against her again and again, getting moans and squeals out of her.
Linda gripped his shoulders as she peaked— babbling, cursing, and softly yelling his name.
Maybe she would never have children of her own; maybe adoption was the only option; but Danny was right. They would have a child some how. Linda had no idea how thrilled she'd be to learn that she was pregnant a few weeks later.
