The Morning After

Linda slowly woke up, having no intention to immediately get out of bed. Tuesday mornings usually meant a shower, probably no breakfast, onto her first class, lunch with Brie, clinic work, hospital work, then dinner with her favorite TV detectives. This Tuesday was different, though; she had spent last week mercilessly and tiredly getting this week's work done. She smiled as she thought how her schedule had changed- most definitely a shower, followed by breakfast, and then whatever she wanted to do. Maybe a walk along the beach? A trip into town?
Linda shifted slightly, dropping a leg off the bed to convince herself to get up. She moaned lightly- muscles she had only ever studied about and never used were hurting. She ran a hand through her hair, smiling at events from yesterday and last night. She smiled wider when gentle lips touched her shoulder.
"Good morning, Mrs. Reagan," the lips traveled to her neck.
"Good morning, Mr. Reagan, i take it you slept well?"
He smiled at the innuendo, "I slept perfectly. How 'bout you?"
Linda smiled when he moved over her, kissing her neck once again. "I slept perfectly, too." She kissed his lips, "do you want breakfast, Danny?"
"I could go for breakfast."
"Whaddaya want?" She slipped out from under him, grabbing his rumpled T-shirt. She slipped it over her head, "I have no idea what we have, to be honest."
"It sure was nice if your sister to lend you her beach home." He got out of bed and stepped into the sweatpants that had quickly been discarded the previous night.
"Mhmm. I booked it in advance so she couldn't tell me no."
"Sneaky."
"Why don't you hop in the shower while I forage for our breakfast? We may have to go to town- I was so happy to marry you, I forgot to check if we were stocked."
"That's fine," Danny called from the bathroom. "I don't mind taking you out for breakfast."
Linda heard the shower start, "good, cause I doubt we have more than cereal and crappy coffee." She picked up her underwear which was near the bathroom door, giving her an idea. "I'm excited to spend the rest of my life with you."
Danny laughed out loud, "I'm excited to spend the rest of my life with you." He was surprised when a pair of arms slid around his waist, but quickly he smiled.
***********
After their shared shower (which would become a staple in their marriage), Linda found the things to make pancakes. She frowned when there was no vanilla or almond extract, but she had found pumpkin spice. "I guess my sister was counting on me staying with friends." She mused, flipping a pancake. "She's stocked it to our likings."
"She had no idea you were going to use at as a honeymoon house?"
"Nobody in my family knew I was going to marry you until about a month ago.... but let's not talk about them."
"Okay.... how much film do you think my Mom needs processed from yesterday?"
Linda laughed and placed the plate of pancakes on the table. "A lot."
He chuckled, "gosh, you cried a lot."
"And it's all on film!" She looked worried, then smirked. "You better get used to that. While you're quick to anger, I'm quick to tears."
"A perfect match," he joked, raising his coffee to her.
"I somehow envisioned our first morning as husband and wife a little less... relaxed? This is great! But I thought it'd be a champagne breakfast with fancy stuff like crepes and that fancy Suzanne thing."
"We can do that for lunch."
"No, I like this better. Funny, I thought it'd take a long time for me to let you see me without my makeup."
"Well, you look beautiful with and without make up."
"Thank you..... gosh, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
