I drifted off for about an hour. It wasn't a lot of rest, but it was enough for me to regain some of my much-needed strength. My eyes fluttered open, completely disoriented to my surroundings. I felt the cold air around me but my body was warm. I brought my head up and came face to face with Yunho.
Oh, right.
He was fast asleep, and I took the time to take a closer look at him. I smiled at how so peaceful and calm he looked. His pinkish lips were slightly parted, and they moved ever so slightly with every exhale. His ears stuck out a little behind his dark chocolate hair. And his cheeks were so cute, I had to strongly resist the urge to squish them. He looked so harmless when he was asleep.
His body was a different story. I was still engulfed by the broad man's muscular embrace. I could feel his strong thighs underneath me. Blood rushed to my cheeks and I quickly diverted my gaze, until it caught onto something else.
His gun.
He had dropped it beside him when he had come into the storage room before, but I hadn't noticed it before.
This is my chance! I can go grab Dahyun and find a way to sneak out. But first I had to find a way out without waking up Yunho.
I made very slow movements, watching his face carefully. I carefully took his arms that were around my waist. I slipped myself out from his embrace, and placed his hands back down in his lap. Then, I moved my weight off of him a little bit at a time. Then, he shuffled slightly. I held my breath awaiting the worst, but he didn't open his eyes.
Yes!
I grabbed his gun off of the floor. It was some kind of military grade gun, very heavy and intimidating. Did I know how to fire a gun? No, of course not, but the robbers didn't know that. I tiptoed over to the storage room door. I felt bad for leaving him there in the cold, but escaping was the most important right now.
I quietly opened up the door and stuck my head out. All I could see was a robber – San – sprawled out on the floor next to the door. You shook your head at him and you closed the door behind you.
They aren't very good at being criminals, are they?
With the gun in hand, I made my way down the hallway towards the main room where the hostages were being held. I popped my head out to survey the situation. Most of the hostages were asleep on the floor, Dahyun included. The four robbers, Mingi, Jongho, Wooyoung and Yeosang, sat in the far corner, still awake but barely so. I snuck along the wall where the robbers couldn't see me. I came towards Dahyun. Some of the hostages that were awake were startled by didn't dare make a noise. I shook my friend slightly and shushed her from making any noise as she woke up. She grabbed me in a big hug.
"Come on," I whispered in her ear, "We're getting out of here."
She nodded and got to her feet. The front door to the bank was about 10 meters away but it would be easier for the robbers to see us. I grabbed her wrist and we slowly drifted towards the door.
We're almost there, just a couple mor –
"What the hell do you think you're doing?"
I grabbed Yunho's gun and whipped around, coming face to face with a pissed off Jongho, with a pistol pointed directly at me. The other robbers stood around him with their guns pointed as well, except for Mingi who just looked startled
"How did you escape? Let me guess, Yunho?" Jongho grimaced at me.
I didn't answer him, I just gritted my teeth in response. I heard Dahyun squeak quietly, hiding behind me.
"Whatever, just put down your gun." He laughed. "I don't want you to hurt yourself."
"Y/N put down that gun now!" Mingi finally spoke up in a more serious tone that sent a shiver down my spine.
I held my confidence, "No! I'm getting out of here. Let us leave, or I'll shoot."
You heard clapping come from the hallway. You turned your head to see Hongjoong walking out, followed by Seonghwa, San and a very embarrassed looking Yunho.
"Very good, Y/N. You managed to trick Yunho and get out, I commend you on that. Seonghwa and I finally opened the safe, and we have to come save this poor freezing man that you left in the storage room." Hongjoong teased you and placed a hand on Yunho's shoulder.
I pointed the gun at him and spat back at him, "Just let us out and I won't hurt you."
He smiled, "You know what boys? I'm feeling nice today. Let's let them out."
"Boss –" Jongho started.
"Wooyoung go open the door for them."
Wooyoung looked confused, but lowered his gun and went towards the door. I was weary of their help, but I just wanted to get out.
Hongjoong lowered his voice. "Don't worry guys. Look at her. She's wearing that black hoodie, pointing a gun at us, and aggressively holding onto that girl. What does she look like to you?"
"A robber..." Mingi answered immediately.
"Exactly." The leader grinned. "The police will do our jobs for us."
Wooyoung went and swung the door open. A flurry of commotion broke outside. I could hear cops yelling orders. I turned slightly to start moving out the door and then heard a loud BANG. A bullet flew centimeters from my face, missing me by a hair. I dropped the gun I had been holding and fell to the floor in fear, Dahyun falling next to me. I looked at her and she was startled but otherwise fine. My heart pounded out of my chest.
I heard someone grunt and turned to see what had happened. Mingi stood with his hand holding his shoulder. Blood dripped down his arm and splattered against the hardwood floor.
"WOOYOUNG CLOSE THE DOOR!" Hongjoong yelled.
