San's POV
Today, the apartment reeked of ammonia, as every one of us dyed and cut our hair. Even with all of the windows popped open, the smell was still nauseating. I wondered how people managed to dye their hair on a regular basis, it seemed like a lot of effort.
I had just helped Wooyoung with bleaching and colouring his hair, and it had been way too much of an ordeal. I mean, did I mind running my hands through his beautiful soft hair? No, of course not. And I can't say he didn't look handsome afterwards. His dark locks had magically metamorphosed into a faded lilac colour. Honestly, I had to restrain myself from continuing to play with his hair after it was done being coloured
Instead of bleaching all my hair, I had just chosen to add in some red highlights. I was seated on a wooden stool in front of the bathroom mirror as Wooyoung mixed the dye for me. He had become so much nicer to me since the incident, always making sure I was taken care of while I was healing. It almost made me sad that my injury had become a circular scar. I knew that soon enough, once I had healed completely, he would stop taking care of me.
"Ready?" He said, standing behind the chair with a brush in one hand and a container of bright red dye in the other. He had always been cheery, but lately his smiles seemed brighter and his laughter seemed louder.
"Ready!" I smiled back at him through the mirror. He got to work covering sections of my hair with globs of the dye, trying to spread it evenly. I was conscious of the fact that, even though he was wearing gloves, his fingers were slowly combing through my hair.
As he got towards the last remaining sections, I started to get nervous.
Would the red really suit me? What if I looked stupid?
"Woo, do you think it will look okay?" I asked anxiously, fidgeting with my bracelet.
"What? Of course it will!" He looked surprised that I had even asked. "San, you could be bald and still be the best-looking guy I know, but you're going to look even better with red hair. I promise."
Wooyoung didn't really think about what he said until the words left his mouth. He tended to think a little bit slower than he spoke, which had gotten him into mountains of trouble in the past.
I was a little shocked.
He thinks I'm good-looking?
Looking at him through the mirror, I could see his cheeks begin to flush slightly. Before I could say anything, he adverted my attention.
"Time to wash it out," He stated, peering down at his watch. "Lean your head back over the sink, I'll wash it out for you."
I set myself up with the crook of my neck against the edge of the sink so that the water could flow over my hair. Wooyoung stood over me, and began turning the faucet on. His face was awfully close to mine. All I could do was stare at his lips as he leaned over the sink, fussing over my hair.
"Aa!" I yelped as freezing cold water poured down my scalp.
Wooyoung panicked, quickly turning up the heat. "Oh God, sorry Sannie. I thought it was going to be warm. Is it okay now?"
"Mm-hm, it's better now." I relaxed into the warm water that cascaded over my newly-dyed hair. That, coupled with Wooyoung's fingernails gently scraping through my hair, made me melt. As he washed the excess colour from my hair, I naturally let my eyes close, letting myself sink into the nice sensation.
After a few moments, I realized that the water was still running, but instead of Wooyoung moving his fingers through my hair, his hands were still, holding the sides of my head. When I opened my eyes to see why he had stopped, I instead found him gazing directly into my eyes. He had brought himself just centimeters from my face, and he stared in a way that I had never seen him look at me before.
"Woo..." My heart thumped so loudly in my chest that I worried he could hear it.
He began leaning in, his hands still securely placed on both sides of my face. Then, his lips met mine. I was too astonished to even react. Everything that I had been wanting to happen for so long... was happening. Right now. I let my eyes flutter closed, and reciprocated his kiss, slowly moving my lips against his. But a perfect moment couldn't last forever.
He suddenly sprung up, panic clear on his face. "Oh god, what did I just..."
I reached out for him but he jerked his arm away. He started towards the door. "Wait, let's talk about this," I pleaded.
"N-no, I can't." He staggered away from me. "I shouldn't have done that. It was a mistake. I'm sorry San..."
That was the last I heard him say before the door closed behind him.
I sat up, my hair dripping faint red dye down the back of my shirt. There were a hundred questions running through my mind."What the hell was that? " was the main one.
