---------- SAN'S POV -------------
After Y/N had left, the rest slowly but surely went off to bed as well. First Mingi went, then later Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yeosang, and Jongho left as well, leaving me and Wooyoung alone by the fire. I didn't really notice that they had gone, my focus was elsewhere. I didn't really know when I started liking Wooyoung. When we first met, we had just been good friends and my feelings only grew recently, since when we had started planning the heist.
I watched the light flickering across his skin. He was so handsome, there was no denying that.
"So, what are you going to do with your cut of the money?" I snapped back into attention when I heard the inquisitive tone.
"Um, I'm not completely sure yet. I might buy an apartment in the city and then who knows? What about you?"
"Well, I've got to pay off my grandma's debt first. After that I want to take a long vacation. Somewhere warm and sunny, like Spain. I haven't decided yet."
"That sounds like a good idea." My mind drifted to how nice Wooyoung would look on a Spanish beach in a swimsuit, but I quickly shook the thought out of my head.
He looked over at me, "You should come with me."
I almost choked. He was asking me to take a vacation with him?
"Really?" I asked nervously.
"Yeah, San. I mean, you're my best friend. It'll be fun!"
My heart immediately dropped. "Oh right, yeah it would be fun."
Friend. I hated that word. It was better to be his friend than nothing at all, but it still hurt me to know that we were only friends. I knew his feelings would probably never change like mine had.
My thoughts were interrupted by a loud banging on the door inside. It was 11pm, who would come to the door so late? Wooyoung and I quickly walked inside towards the foyer. One of Hongjoong's rules was to not open the door until we knew who it was first.
"THIS IS THE POLICE, OPEN UP!"
Well I guess that answered that question.
"Shit, San get the guns out of the cabinet." Wooyoung pointed across the room. I hurried over, as the banging on the door grew louder. They were trying to break down the door. I reached the cabinet, and grabbed two rifles straight away. I quickly slid one of them across the floor to Wooyoung, but as I did the wooden door splintered and crashed down to the ground. Five police officers in head to toe Kevlar padding swarmed into the foyer.
Wooyoung had time to pick up his gun and point it at the group of officers, and I did the same. It was two against five, the odds weren't looking so good. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something in the cabinet. A grenade. I thought that Seonghwa was crazy when he insisted that we buy grenades, but I reminded myself to thank him later. I whipped out the grenade with one hand and reached for the pin with the other.
"GRENADE!" I heard one of the officers scream.
Before I could touch the metal pin, I heard a shot. And then pain radiated through my abdomen. It was a blinding kind of pain, the kind you knew was serious before even knowing what had happened. I crumbled to the floor, glancing down to my stomach, where blood started to pool out of my body. My senses dissipated quickly. I heard the shouting continue, but I couldn't make out what was being said. All I could see was red. And then black.
----------- WOOYOUNG'S POV --------------
I didn't see San pull out the grenade, but I did see him get shot. I saw him topple to the floor. I saw his blood pool around him as he lay there unconscious. And in that moment, I didn't care about the police, my safety or even going to jail for the rest of my life. I only cared about him. I let my gun drop to the floor and ran over to where he lay, trying to put pressure on his wound. I could hear the police approaching behind me, but I couldn't leave him.
Suddenly I heard voices from above. The police stopped dead in their tracks. Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yeosang, Yunho, Mingi and Jongho were lined up against the railing of the second-floor landing, loaded rifles pointed at the group of officers. A small black object flew down, and rolled along the tiled floor towards the cops. And then it blew up.
Shattered tile and dust flew through the air while my ears rang loudly. As I glanced over towards the officers, all five sprawled motionless on the ground. The robbers all rushed downstairs. Seonghwa noticed San straight away.
"Woo, help me get him to the kitchen. I need to stitch his wound before its too late." His voice was urgent. My body was trembling with panic, but I mustered myself to pick up my best friend, and carry him off. We laid him down on the table, while Seonghwa began unpacking a medical kit that had been stashed above the sink.
"Seonghwa, hurry! You can't let him die! He can't d-die." I stumbled against the wall. I didn't realize that I had been crying, but tears were trickling down my cheeks.
I heard Hongjoong across the room, "They couldn't have only sent five. We need to check the house. Jongho, take the first floor. Mingi, take the second, and..." He was about to ask me to search the third floor, but changed his mind after seeing the state that I was in. "Uh, Yunho, take the third floor. I'll deal with the bodies in the foyer."
Yeosang came over next to me and squeezed my shoulder. I watched silently as Seonghwa tried to patch up a bloodied and unconscious San. I didn't want to ask whether or not he would be okay, because one of the two possible answers would have completely broken me. So, I just waited.
"I'm sure he's going to be fine." Yeosang tried to comfort me. He had never seen me so distressed.
Seonghwa managed to get the bleeding under control, but the amount of blood that had already been lost was potentially fatal. He carefully took the bullet out of San's abdomen and sewed him up carefully. The oldest finally placed a large white bandage over the wound and took a step back.
"Now all we can do is wait." He sighed.
Footsteps thundered down towards the kitchen and Mingi appeared in the doorway, gasping for breath. An expression of anger blended with worry was plastered across his face.
"They took her..." He panted like he had just finished running a marathon.
Yeosang looked confused, "What?"
"They. Took. Y/N."
