Snow was falling as the soccer girls decided it was enough practice for the day. They were running around having a snowball fight while the cheerleaders were well cheering on the sidelines. It was a joint practice as the cheerleaders needed to use the field as well, for what? Gina had no clue.
All she knew was that she was having fun with the girls on her team. She felt a snowball hit her back and immediately turned around. She laughed as she saw it was Laurie, her soccer captain. Who she had built a good relationship with the last two months.
Yeah, it had been two months since homecoming. It was currently December and it was almost time for Christmas break. Which Gina was excited for, Astrid was coming to spend the Holidays with her and her mom. Which meant that Vanna tagged along too. Austin couldn't make it because he always took a trip to Australia with his family.
Back in New York, they spent all major holidays together when they could. Of course Astrid and Vanna took it as an opportunity to post and advertise that they were traveling to Salt Lake City to visit a surprise guest. It was just something they would do, so Gina wasn't surprised. She had signed up for this anyways she knew how and who her friends were.
"Alright Porter! Caswell made me promise to have you out of here early so go on out. We'll clean up practice" Laurie nodded at her and Gina smiled. EJ made sure that they could go christmas shopping after school today and then go ice skating for a few before Astrid and Vanna came into town. EJ knew that as soon as they arrived Gina's attention would be fully on them.
EJ was only worried about that because Nini knew who Astrid was. Of course he had slipped up and told Ricky that Astrid and Vanna were visiting and that caused the other boy to tell him about the connection. Ricky told Nini because he's really trying to get on Gina's good graces again. Of course for the past two months nothing that he tried worked, and Gina was a master at ignoring him and the other girl. The only person Gina even gave her slightest attention to was Big Red, who was simply too sweet to ignore and drag into that whole mess.
Gina quickly grabbed her bag and sprinted back into the locker room. Completely ignoring the fact that Ricky and Nini were in the stands watching the practice. Of course she couldn't ignore it completely because EJ was with them. After Gina had found out about EJ and Ricky's relationship, they made no move to hide it from anyone. She had to admit though, they were extremely cute together.
She quickly hopped into the locker room showers and changed into black lululemon sweats and an East High shirt she had gotten at orientation. She then grabbed her Property of East High Athletics hoodie and slipped it on. It was white with red lettering which meant she grabbed her low air forces from her locker. If there was one thing about her style is that she still dressed like a total New Yorker. Even opted for a nice pair of timberlands as her 'winter shoes' as her mom called them.
She finished by putting some clips on her hair and slicking it back in the front, leaving a puff of her hair in the back. She admitted that she looked cute even after practice and for a lazy look. Gina grabbed her coat and school bag and then swung her soccer bag over her shoulder. She locked her locker and made sure she had both her keys before heading out and walking towards EJ.
Who stood in front of her car smiling. She didn't see Nini or Ricky around which meant a lot to her. EJ cared for them because of his relationship with Ricky but he still loved Gina with all his might. So the boy told them to go off, he didn't want to upset Gina so close to the Holidays.
"Zip up your coat Porter. You're going to catch a cold!" He exclaimed as she got closer and she shook her head. She did a little spin as she approached him and laughed.
"C'mon now Caswell. We gotta show the fit"
"Dude you are such a fucking New Yorker"
Gina cleared her throat before speaking in an exaggerated New York accent.
