Gina looked at the object on her bed weirdly.

It was a hoodie, but her eyes filled with tears. The black hoodie was neatly folded and on the left chest it said Ryan Porter. Her dads name.

On top of it was a small folded note. She walked fully into her room and grabbed it. Surely it was Astrid.

Hey,
I know he meant a lot to you.
Hopefully you can feel his embrace through this.
Please meet me at the mall before 12, just us. Merry Christmas!

~ Nini

She was left with no words. She smiled at the note before placing it on her bedside table. She took the hoodie and unfolded it, she noticed that the back had a picture of her and her dad when she was younger blended into the fabric of the hoodie. And at the bottom it said "always and forever".

The black hoodie was a bold move on Nini's part. Even Vanna knew that but she also knew that Gina wouldn't say anything harsh towards Nini after it. It was Nini's idea that Vanna's amazing design skills manifested.

Gina held onto the hoodie and cried a little bit. For some reason it smelled faintly of her dad's favorite cologne and that warmed her heart. This was the best gift she's gotten in ages. Gina quickly took off the East High Soccer hoodie she had on and put the new hoodie on. It fit her a little baggy but it was perfect on her nonetheless.

She had her dads name on top of where her heart was in what looked like real handwriting. She just couldn't figure out whose it was.

She knew she had to show up to Nini's invitation, she had to say thank you to this. Even if right after she stopped talking to the girl.

Nini sat in her car, nervous would be an understatement. She was petrified, she didn't know how Gina would react. Maybe she'd get a lecture but she was okay with it because she managed to do something heartfelt for the girl.

She quickly exited her car and was met with the cold Salt Lake City air. She shivered slightly before zipping up the East High sweater she had on under her coat and making her way into the mall. It was almost 12 and maybe Gina was already at the mall, or she wasn't going to show up but still, here she was.

Just as Nini sat down on a bench, the door to a the mall opened again and Gina walked in, in just the black hoodie Nini had gifted her, absolutely no coat on her.

"Hey" Gina let out in a tone that was a mixture of warm and cold. Nini took it as a win, Gina hasn't spoken to her in two months. This was definitely a huge win for her.

"Hi"

There was a bit of silence between them as Nini spoke up.

"I'm so glad you decided to come. I've missed you."

Gina cringed at the words. To her Nini didn't have a reason to miss her. All they did was talk once, granted it was for hours and about deep shit but it was still only once.

"I hope you liked the gift"

Gina smiled at that though.

"You know Salazar, Christmas isn't until tomorrow"

Nini smiled hearing that Gina knew her last name. It was a small gesture that made Nini's heart happy.
