Gina and Nini's laughter faded and they fell into a peaceful silence. It wasn't uncomfortable, they felt comfortable with each other, even in the silence.

They both felt their grazes and held them until Nini spoke up.

"Why does Ricky affect you so much?"

Gina broke their eye contact before taking a deep breath.

"Truth is, it hurt. He was my best friend. And he just pulled so much to willingly hurt me. Rubbing the fact that my father had died in my face, and just icing me out after so much. I wanted to call and tell him I missed him. And when I did he just bragged about, well about you and Big Red. Telling me how much better friends you two were and how you guys would never turn on him like I would. He hurt me more and didn't listen when I needed him to. It just hurt that my best friend wanted to hurt me when I never planned on hurting him. I can't be friends with him after that"

Nini listened to every word Gina said. She knew all about the hatred Ricky felt towards Gina. In fact, before actually meeting her, she thought Gina was really this big old monster. One that Ricky painted her out to be. But she's not. She's someone who deserves love and is an incredible sweetheart.

"Why do you care so much about me?"

Nini felt shocked at the question. In fact she didn't expect Gina to say anything after her question.

"You don't have to answer... I just wanted to know"

Nini felt the vulnerability of the room. The vulnerability that Gina was radiating. She made the move to sit on the bed opposite of Gina and looked dead into her eyes.

"In all honesty I don't know. You aren't going to get a black and white answer from me just yet, or ever. Because you haven't let your walls be broken yet. And yes i'm saying yet, because I know I can do it. With you it was something different. The first time I saw you was when EJ crashed into you. Your wit and humor just captured me from there, and hey it doesn't hurt that your insanely gorgeous"

Nini look a small breathed before continuing.

"Frankly I don't know why you affect me so much. You just do. And I crave to be next to you and just know you, not the Gina Porter everyone thinks they now. The badass soccer player and dancer, but you. The one who listens to The 1975 and reads Looking for Alaska. That you. And I want to know you, just with pure innocence. Whether that be as your friend or as something more"

Gina couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. She knew that Nini would have an affect on her and she didn't want it to happen. But god, every time the other girl was around she couldn't help but become mush and let her stay near.

"Sometimes I think you're too bold for your own good"

"Oh definitely only for you. Did you see me when I first talked to you? I was a complete and utter idiot"

Gina laughed wholeheartedly,

"Yeah I'm sorry about that"

Nini shrugged. She really didn't care about that anymore, she was just trying to find conversation that night. And a reason to speak to her.

"Don't be. It seriously wasn't my place to intrude anyways."

The silence fell on them again. This time even more comforting than the last. However it wasn't Nini that broke it this time, but Gina.

"You gonna give up on me?"

Nini titled her head to look at Gina in a confused manor. Gina dead planted her look and Nini suddenly got what Gina had meant.

"Hell fucking no. You can push me away all you want Gina Porter. But I'm going to come back, again and again. You're worth the world and if I have to give you mine to show you that, then by all means. I'll do it"

Neither of them realized how close they had gotten. If Gina had she would've stopped them long before. Their knees were touching and they were both leaned in. As Nini spoke her words Gina felt her breath hovering on her lips.

The moment was perfect. Almost too perfect, because before their lips could meet, a startling noise from downstairs broke them apart. Gina jumped up from her bed and Nini just let the mattress engulf her. She was so close.

Gina laughed a little at the sight. Now she knew Nini's true intentions and maybe she could let her in. But she needed to take care of Ricky and most importantly the noise that had just come from her living room.

They made their way downstairs but not before Gina pulled Nini up from the bed and kissed her cheek.

"So maybe you are my friend Salazar"

Nini stood shocked at the incident before Gina grabbed her hand and pulled her downstairs. As they entered the living room they saw people leaving and crowding around at the same time.

Vanna stood over Ricky who was on top of a broken coffee table. His right arm looked bad but his left looked even worse. His left arm was in the shape of an s, something Gina knew wasn't supposed to happen to bones.

"Next time leave when we fucking tell you to. You're not welcome here Bowen"

Astrid spat from next to Vanna and clapped her hands together. She then pulled Vanna away while EJ rushed to the boy who cried out about his arm. There were faint sounds of police sirens and ambulances in the distance and Gina figured that someone had already called 911.

Thankfully Nini and Big Red sprinted into action and cleared everyone from the house just as the first responders came into the house. Of course they asked questions but Ricky just said that him and his boyfriend were rough housing and he slipped badly.

The officers knew Gina because of her mother. She was well respected because Ryan Porter, her husband and Gina's dad was one hell of a detective. So they easily let it slide, ignoring some unopened bottles of beer hanging around the house.

Safe to say Gina actually threw one hell of a Christmas Eve Party.
