Nini sat on her bed with her songbook. She had just finished her latest song, Easy. You guessed it, it was about Gina. But she meant the lyrics in a good way, Gina didn't make love easy but Nini didn't want easy. She was looking for Gina and whatever she had to do to get her, she was okay with it.

She also knew that she had to have a song prepared for her performance at next weeks Spring Formal and what better way than to declare her love than through song. She knew there was no way that her and Gina were going to magically go together in a week but she had faith that after that night they would be together.

She felt the sudden urge to text the other girl. And it was pretty late and she knew that the girl had practice but she still did it.

April 10th, 9:49 pm

Nini:
Hey!
It's been a while.
And I know you had a long day today but...
Think you can come over ?

Gina:
Of course.
I'm still out right now and Mom isn't home either way.
She's in Colorado this weekend.

Nini:
It's Friday so yk my moms are at Trade.
Yk where we hide the spare key, let yourself in.
Feeling hungry?

Gina:
Actually yea I am.
And ofc, yk one of these days you're gonna get robbed for hiding it under that mat.

Nini:
So just take the key for yourself.
Moms love you anyways.
Chipotle okay?

Gina:
It's perfect, I'll be there ina few.
And Nini?

Nini:
Yeah?

Gina:
Think I can borrow some clothes while I'm there?

Nini:
Yeah ofc why?

Gina:
Lmfaoo you'll see.
🙃

Nini laughed at the dork the other girl was. She had missed their playful banter. It was now exactly a month since things weren't the same between them but she was surprised at how quickly they fell back into their normal selves.

Even if the text conversation was slightly awkward, she had missed Gina. Although she just wanted to know why Gina would need another pair of clothes.

Nini got up from her bed and quickly got a pair of shorts that said East High cheer. Which she had done when she was a freshman, although after a year she quit because Cheer just wasn't her passion. And she got one of her very own SLC pride shirts from her drawers and set it up for Gina in the bathroom. She also left a towel in there just in case Gina wanted to shower.

Something in her told her that Gina would be staying the night. Especially because Gina had done so, many other times back during the very beginning of the year.

After laying out the clothes and the towel and the toothbrush Gina always used when she came over. Nini went back to her room and she changed from her jeans and tank top to shorts and a new cami tank top. She looked in her mirror and put her hair into a messy bun before grabbing her song book and putting it on her swing chair.

She put her keyboard back on its stand and the guitar on its stand as well. Then she jumped onto her bed and opened up her Chipotle app. She didn't have to do much work because what her and Gina got every time was saved as an easy order. She quickly placed the order and got up once more as she finally heard the doorbell. Although she wasn't sure why, she had told Gina to just come in.
