It was another match day and Gina was beyond excited. This time they were playing another school from another part of Utah and it would really make the team show what they could do.

Gina was currently in the locker room with the rest of the girls as they got ready for the match. She calmly had her headphones in while she was seated right by her locker. It was to calm herself down and zone in on the game, that was about to happen.

Especially because she still had a lot on her mind. It was almost the end of March and her and Nini still hadn't talked. Gina missed the other girl.

She missed having to pick Nini up ridiculously early just so they could get coffee. She missed having Nini control the music. She missed when Nini would subtly get her to open up about things like her dad or just her feelings. How could Nini not see that Gina was trying? Did Ricky really get in her head?

At the thought of the boy, Gina rolled her eyes and took her airpods off in one go. She had, had enough of her thinking. She needed to focus on the game. Even if she hadn't spoken to Nini in about two weeks, Gina knew that Nini would want her to solely focus on the game.

"Porter suit up! We need your hat tricks out there"
One of her teammates called out and she immediately laughed a nodded along.

Her ears were filled with the must that Laurie was controlling. She smiled and thought about the Women's National Soccer Team. She was always more reserved as a person but she killed it on the field. Gina thought that maybe soccer was something she could do, but as time went on she realized it wasn't her passion.

In that moment, she felt like Nini was her passion. She just sparked a fire deep within Gina that she didn't even know she had. If Nini would've just given Gina a chance to explain herself.

"Gi, seriously game starts in half an hour. Suit up"
Carter, whose locker was right next to Gina's, nudged her and Gina immediately took of her white tee to put on her white jersey. They were of course having a home game so the wore their white home kit this game.

Gina took some time to get ready and when she was still putting in her shin guards most of the girls were already out on the field. Laurie and Carter were still inside because they couldn't leave until the last player was out on the field.

"Seriously Gi you never take this long to get ready, hurry up!" Laurie complained and Carter kicked her.

"Bitch! You have cleats on. Goddamn let the other team do the clearing"

Laurie had their game ball in her hands and used it to hit Carter after the kick.

"Fuck Laurie! Calm down it was just a kick"

"See if it's just a kick when we're down our captain"
At Gina's voice the two girls jumped slightly but smiled. They had gotten Gina to be playful with them and that's what counted.

"We're gonna be down a player if you don't hurry up. Might just lock you in the locker room"

Gina thought back to an incident in New York. One where they actually locked her in the locker room with Vanna once. The two definitely left the locker room a mess.

She laughed at the two girls as she finally took out her game day clears and started to put them on.

They went back to arguing quickly and Gina ending up throwing her right cleat at Laurie who dodged it but wasn't aware that someone else had entered the locker room.

The clear flew and hit Nini right on her head. The girl winced and the soccer players tried to hold back their laughs.

"Alright I guess that's what I deserve for coming in here unannounced"
Nini winced and grabbed onto her head, before kneeling to grab the cleat. When she saw if she could tell it was Gina's. I mean it said Porter on it but it was also the girl's second favorite colors. White and gold.
